Open Auditions are HERE!!!!

We have been working behind the scenes to get ready for the next season of Project Run and Play, which will begin in September.  And with that new season, we need to find our last two designers who are going to compete.

So-----if you have always wanted to be a part of Project Run and Play, now is your chance!  We are hosting a linky party starting today and going until Wednesday, August 8th for you to put in your best work that you have made recently to use as your "audition" piece for Project Run and Play Season 5.

You can audition anything that you have made in the last six months, or even sew something new if you are up to it in the next couple of days!

We just ask that you link specifically to the post with your childrenswear design and that it be something recent.  Our judges will review all the entries on Thursday, August 9th and the contestants will be narrowed down to a top 5.  From there, the top 5 scorers will be voted on by the general public from Friday, August 10th through Sunday August 12th....and then we will announce our next season designers from there.

Good luck everyone....we can't wait to see what other creations you have been making in the ever-exciting category of children's clothing!

  2. Yay! I'm so excited for the next season, and NOT being in the middle of moving or graduating, so I can participate in the sew along if nothing else!

I am afraid I don't have anything new and exciting to enter, (with the move and all) so luckily some of my past stuff this year just squeaks in under the 6 month mark!

  3. I really want to, but I am just so afraid to commit to this when I have no idea when we could get "the call" for adopting our baby! I'm just going to have to enjoy it again this time from the sidelines!

  4. Can't wait to see who does what! I'm an avid follower of Project Run and play, 'cause while I sew, I'm most definitely not a designer!

  5. I know this would be going full circle, but has anyone thought about having a Project Run and Play for adult-wear (for those of us who haven't bred yet). With a sew-along and everything?

  6. Alex,

We've definitely thought about a "mom" round....wouldn't that be fun?

  9. I stupidly want to audition so badly - 'stupidly' because I just started blogging and will be on vacation for a week and a half of the season ;op Oh yeah, and I would have to make something for the audition! I think I will play along from the sidelines as much as possible this season. Is there another season in the Spring? I'm so excited for all the inspiration that I know is going to be seen this season!!!

  10. As a contestant yourself, I need some advice. I would love to try out, and I have a ten month old son. Should I wait until I have both a boy and a girl? And if should I wait until my son is older?

  11. Heather - I'd recommend having some "models" you could sew for that live nearby for fittings and photoshoots. Many past contestants have had just one gender or younger kids and have used neighbors, cousins, or friends to make it work. It is definitely possible to use a younger one, but getting good photos of my not-yet-walking 13 month old son was really difficult, personally. Hope that helps. :)

  13. Can I put in a few words of encouragement for those who are thinking of entering...
    Go for it!
You will work hard, it will be all you think of for at least 2 months and you will be very sad if you are ever voted off!
But, as a season 4 participant, I have to say it was one of the best things I have ever done.
It was so fun, it improved my sewing skills so much and really pushed Caroline and I to give our best.
    I can't wait for season 5.
Good luck to all who enter the open auditions.

    1. I emailed emmelie back, but just in case anyone else is wondering...I set up the linky so you should be able to delete your own links (and switch them out for something else).

You should see an "x" by your link....click that and it will tell you how to delete it!

  15. ARRRGGGHHH!!!!! I'm working on something I was hoping to put up as an audition, but I didn't expect the auditions to be until September (or late August!!!!) I can't believe it!!! I feel silly, but I guess I'll put up a relatively oldie but goodie from April PR&P :___-(

If by some miracle (and I mean miracle) I happen to finish early, I guess I'll pull that dress and put the new one in...if that's okay!

  16. Just FYI to Liz & Elizabeth... the Ellie & Dax link in the party doesn't seem to actually be someones design, but a link to someone's giveaway. Thought you might was to know, if you didn't already. :) I think I'm gong to sew-along this time around and audition for the January season.

    1. Well, I see it was removed. What's up with this?
It is my original design...I am confused. I thought it just had to be pictured on a blog.
Might have been nice if someone had asked me.
      I'm seriouly bummed.

    2. Ella Dax---
You linked to a pattern giveaway on someone else's blog...with no explanation from you (like an email letting us know your unconventional way of submitting an entry) and no contact info it looks to us like someone is using the link party to try to drive traffic to their giveaway and not for entering the contest.(You need to understand that we dont personally know everyone who submits an entry---All we have is what we can see from the link and all we can see from your link is a giveaway from a name that doesn't match the name of the blog in the link.)

Thank you for including your email in your comment. I will send you a personal email in the morning.

I see that you have had Running River Farm include in their giveaway post a line saying that the photo is also an entry for PRP. That will be great if any more of are readers were as confused as we were.

    4. LOL, no problem! I'm new to this whole blog thing :) Sorry if I confused anyone or didn't properly follow the rules.
I see the point, I just never thought of it the way it appeared to others.
Again, apologies for any confusion my method of posting caused :)

  18. Eek, I just entered. I have been going back and forth about entering, but I figured, why not? Either way, I can't wait for the new season to start up again!

    1. Oh yikes, then sadly I just don't think I'm going to make it (and picture it and blog it especially since I have work today) in time! Damn! I saw a post about the audition on Sunday morning and I have/had an extravagant birthday for Azriella coming, but I don't want to turn in something subpar, let alone rush my little princess's birthday dress!

      SIGH! *&*%$*&!*?! :-(

I just hope my purple bias strip outfit is sufficient! There is a ton of talent this time and I am super sad I didn't get to offer the dress I intended for PR&P!

Suffice it to say, I have something big coming for you guys, albeit it a little late!
