Meet the Designers: Suzanne from WInter Wonderings

Hi everyone.  I am so excited to be here as a part of the Project Run and Play experience - and that is how I view it, the experience of a lifetime!!!

I blog over at Winter Wonderings... where I started sharing my sewing and crafting projects after baby girl was born.  Honestly, it started as a way to fill those middle of the night feeding hours, and then I was hooked.  I also have twin boys who will be two in February - three under two is quite a handful and an adventure all rolled into one.  If it wasn't for my amazingly supportive husband, Julian, I wouldn't be here at all.

(yeah, they're cute enough to keep)

My sewing start can definitely be attributed to my Mom who not only sewed costumes for all three of us kids, but also special dresses, drum major uniforms, and regular old clothes.  I think I can say that her greatest influence that trickled down to me was this nifty booklet called 'No Pattern Sewing' that she has had since the 60's or 70's.  She taught me the basics of a needle and thread and that you can create anything, no pattern needed.

But, my love of sewing can be traced back to college where I double majored in Theatre and History.  My obligatory costume shop class freshman year opened up doors for me to design and create.  And the sewing bug infected me for a lifetime.

My skills are rusty and my tool is a beat up OLD Bernina, but my babies are bouncing off the walls and so is my passion to create clothes the will keep up with them!!!  I am so happy to be here, pushing my boundaries, abilities, and brain further than I have in years.  Thank you to everyone for giving me this opportunity to meet new people, try new things, and hopefully make some AWESOME clothes for my kiddos!
HUGS (yep, I'm a hugging kind of girl)
