Designers: Where are they now? Susan from Living With Punks

Hello, Hello! Wow, my short appearance on PR&P seems like ages ago, but I'm so honored that the girls asked me back to participate in this unique year! Loving the concept! Since you last saw me, I have kept busy with my own blog, Living with Punks, and I freelance for a few other sites. I have shifted gears a little in the sewing area, trying to focus more on sewing for my home and interior design. I do still sew for my kids, although that has slowed down a bit, especially since my twin boys are 12 and mom-made clothes just aren't cool anymore ;) I'd love for you to check out what I've been up to!

I've completely redesigned my 6 year old daughter's room and basically DIY'd everything! Even the Diamond Tufted Headboard... boy what an undertaking that was, but I have to say it was one of the most rewarding projects I have completed to date. DSC_0706_thumb I documented all my steps and posted every step and added tutorials for the projects that I thought people would want to know. For instance... DSC_1311_thumb-25255B1-25255D Ruffled Euro Shams. I love these beauties and the fabric is to die for! I found a new love while redesigning her room, and the fever started.... I have slowly moved from room to room and am currently working on my boys' rooms. You can see a few more spaces I have completely redone (and documented along with tutorials) below: DSC_04121 Our Living Room Makeover And, for all you sewing enthusiasts, my most recent reveal: The Sewing Space .

I can't say that it always looks this clean (like, ever), but at least I documented it this one time ;) Here are a few of my most recent clothing sewing projects. This one was designed for the latest issue of STYLO...

Easy Bandana Shorts by Living with Punks
This was my latest favorite summer project where I made a pair of shorts using just 2 bandanas I feel so blessed to be a part of this fun series and to have been asked to participate 4 years ago with PR&P. I absolutely love the heart and spirit of Project Run & Play and hope that it inspires you as much as it inspires me! And, I can't wait to pick out your free tutorial.... can anyone guess what it will be?

  1. So excited to see what you pick. My first project to work with pipping ever on, was your floor pillows. Now I use it all the time and wonder why I was so scared. Thanks for that little nudge. Hope I have the time to play along this month.
