Alida Makes: What She is Doing Now
Hey Y'all! I'm so honored to be here today! When I competed on Project Run and Play I was a newbie blogger and my sewing level was confident beginner at best. I still have no idea how I got chosen for it! I was terrified because at the time I had only ever sewn a zipper once (and badly). I didn't really know what my style was yet, but I did my best and I'm still proud of what I made. Three and a half years later, (can it possibly be that long?) I still love making children's clothing. Last year I did a lot of sewing for my daughters, including making Caroline a Handmade Fall Wardrobe.
2014 was a year for me to get my feet wet in a lot of different areas, trying to answer that age old question "what do I want to be when I grow up"? Other than blogging, I sewed looks for Issue 1 and Issue 3 of STYLO Magazine, competed in Project Sewn, wrote an article on The Huffington Post, and wrote/co-wrote 2 Ebooks. (For more information on my Ebooks you can click HERE.)
Whew! That sounds like a lot doesn't it? I tend to go through bursts of creative fervor between which I binge watch lots of Netflix. Right now I'm narrowing my focus on what I really want to do: write. I'm just in the baby stages of a new project, but I can't talk about it just yet. Let's just say I'm going to be stretching my creative abilities in a new way and I'm really excited! Thanks for reading and I'll see you tomorrow!
