Ensemble Patterns x Art Gallery Fabrics {Pantone Party 2021}

Today one last designer is joining our Pantone Party.  And if you know anything about Celina of Ensemble Patterns, then you know we saved the best for last!

Celina played with Art Gallery Fabrics to create her stunning looks.  Yes, that truly exemplifies awesome!

Pictured above is a George Hoodie made from Striped Sleek Sun and Ice Cream Shop jersey knit fabrics.
It is paired with a pair of Morocco Pants made up in Clouded Horizon denim fabric.

This sweet girl also models a (modified) D'Anjou Dress made up in a patchwork of yellow and grey Art Gallery Fabric premium cottons.
And see that Urban Classic Doll?  Celina even drafted a matching dress for it!!

Finally, let's take a moment to appreciate that quilted jacket.  Celina used a whole myriad of illuminating yellow and ultimate grey fabrics to create it.  It is lined with Blooming Brook Sol premium cotton fabric.  Believe it or not, she used the Joseph(ine)Cardigan pattern to create this on-trend quilted jacket!

Lucky for all of us, Celina has a post over at Ensemble Patterns so we can all copy everything ASAP!

Here are some thoughts from Celina on this project:

It's been such a long time since I sewed for my kids, so when Audrey approached me to see if I wanted to take part in the Pantone Party, I just had to say YES! First, yellow happens to be one of my favourite colors, as well as my daughters and if you know me, you know how much I love grey too. Secondly, I was supposed to sew some trousers and a coat for my daughter during the winter break but never got around to it, so this was the perfect opportunity. The trousers had to be high waisted with a straight leg and frayed hem... "Just like yours moms". She also wanted a quilted patchwork coat just like mine, but it had to be cropped. So I did just that and made my first ever quilt! I then used all the remainder fabric to make a summer dress. We had so much fun planning and making together, and I am super grateful for the opportunity this sewing party has giving us. To many more I hope!

Be sure to head over to Ensemble Patterns for more on these incredible looks.

Julia x Bobbins 'N Buttons {Pantone Party 2021}

Today we're joined by Julia of Bobbins 'n Buttons!  Julia is an extra special guest to the Pantone Party because she used fabric from her own Bobbins 'N Buttons shop!

And that's not all...in Project Run & Play style, Julia chose a theme and made it extra special!

Julia sewed her son a George Hoodie and Joseph Joggers using grey, egg yolk yellow french terry and grey stretch velvet fabrics!

Her daughter is sporting a Lee Top and Becky Skirt made from yellow jersey, white jersey and dark grey ribbing fabrics.

Here's a word from Julia about these makes:

I loved taking part in the Pantone party, I can't believe this year's colours are the colours of my brand!
I chose to give my look a retro 70's flavour using elements of classic 70's sun-ray design and positive 70's slogans.
Adding these to simple practical clothing shapes.
Its been great seeing what everyone makes using the same colour palette.

Now be sure to head over to Bobbins 'N Buttons for a closer look at each of these and lots of fun details!

Sew Haute Blog x Raspberry Creek Fabrics {Pantone Party 2021}

 Prepare yourself for some major cute factor!  Today Teronia of Sew Haute Blog is joining our Pantone Party.  She used fabric from Raspberry Creek Fabrics to create for her adorable son!

Just feast your eyes on this incredible Lemon Tee made with white, ivory and mustard jersey knits!

It tops off a quintessential pair of Prose Cargo Shorts made with Charcoal Grey chambray and mustard linen fabrics.

Check out the fabulous detailing on that Lemon Tee!  Here's what Teronia had to say:

My littlest is wearing the Prose Cargo Shorts and the Lemon Tee; made from Charcoal Grey Chambray and Cotton Jersey Spandex, respectively.  I was completely inspired by a hexagon headboard that I saw on Pinterest one day which made me think of honeycomb. A huge thank you Raspberry Creek Fabrics for providing all the fabric that I used.  I actually dyed the knits yellow besides the mustard. It was so fun to mix fabrics for this set.

Be sure to follow Teronia on Instagram for more details on this fun set.

That's Sew Kari x Knitfabric.com {Pantone Party 2021}

It's time to flex your smile muscles!  Kari from That's Sew Kari is joining the Pantone Party today and she's brought her happy place along!  She got to use fabric from Knitfabric.com to create her yellow and grey looks.

We told you your smile was going to get a work out!  Let's take a closer look at these girls in their cute outfits:

                              Chromium Cropped Hoodie in Light Gray Bamboo Jersey Knit

                            Banana Boat Tee in Light Gray Bamboo Jersey Knit with handcut rainbow in Yellow Cotton Lycra,  Light Yellow Cotton Lycra Knit, and a scrap of lighter yellow from my stash.

Here are some thoughts from Kari:

I've loved the color yellow for quite some time (I used it 3 of my 4 weeks on PRP!) and I love the punch of color it gives the photos and the happy feeling it evokes.  My oldest decided late last year that her favorite color is ... you guessed it, yellow!!   Imagine our surprise when we saw the Pantone 2021 colors!  I really love the contrast between the Illuminating Yellow and Ultimate Gray.

While I have quite a bit of yellow fabrics accumulated over the years, I loved getting the chance to shop at Knitfabric.com.   It's so easy to navigate the site and search just within the two colors by choosing the color filter.  I grabbed several solids in the Pantone color family on a few different bases.  I started out planning to sew just for my oldest, but couldn't resist adding in an outfit for little sis too.  I went for a sporty summer theme and used the Becky Skirt, Chromium Cropped Hoodie, Bodhi Boardskirt and Banana Boat Tee.  Both girls are thrilled with their new threads, but the Becky Skirt was declared the favorite!

Be sure to head over to That's Sew Kari for tons more fin inspirational photos and details!  (We want to know more about that side detail on the Chromium Cropped Hoodie!)

Deriving Mommyhood x Bobbins N Buttons {Pantone Party 2021}

 Today's stop on the Pantone Party tour is really, really fun!  Amanda of Deriving Mommyhood created the most adorable yellow and grey looks using fabric from Bobbins 'N Buttons.

Let's hear from Amanda:

I'm so excited to be a part of the Pantone Party here at Project Run and Play! When I was asked if I wanted to participate and saw the colors for this year, I was hooked. I am in love with this year's colors, and love how happy and hopeful they are. I chose to sew coordinating Spring looks for my two littlest and it just puts a smile on my face to see them, hopefully it works for you too!!

My daughter has a modified Robin Dress, where I added piping rather than the ruffle and tied it in with some trim along the bottom. I used star print chambray I snagged from the remnant page over at Bobbins and Buttons. I hand painted some yellow buttons for the back and sneakily lined it in yellow fabric as well. I thought she needed even more yellow, so I made her a Pacifica Jacket from Little Lizard King to wear over it, choosing the fully pieced hip length version. The fabulous yellow denim is from Bobbins and Buttons also and can be found here (also comes in lots of other shades!). I lined it with the same chambray on the collar/cuffs/waistband but used some cosy modal french terry for the rest. (Did you know that Annie from my season designed this jacket? I've already made 3....). I added a little chambray piping along those shoulder seams as well.

For my son, I made him some yellow skinny jeans using the Star Boy Skinnies. The denim only has about 10-15% stretch, so slightly less than the pattern calls for so I added a tuxedo stripe in the chambray down each leg. I chose to do the ribbed elastic waistband so they are pull on, and added stitched stars on the back pockets. For his sweater, I used the Hot Chocolate Hoodie out of the modal striped french terry, and did a shawl collar (rather than options in the pattern, though there are neckband, hoodie, and cowl included that would all be great) and lined it in some yellow jersey (again from Bobbins and Buttons).

There's more details and pictures over on my blog if you'd like to know more!!

MaMeMiMo x Lillestoff {Pantone Party 2021}

We're so excited that Monica of MaMeMiMo is sharing her BOY makes for our Pantone Party.

Check out this cool character:

Totally comfortable in a George Hoodie and a pair of Joseph Joggers made from Summersweat in solid gray with grey ribbing from Lillestoff.

Underneath, a Lemon Tee made from Crazy Dots yellow jersey fabric from Lillestoff.

I love the colors that Pantone chose for the 2021 and I love the message they share, too. Grey is one of my favourite colors for my kids: is it child proof and any color you match with it immediately pops-up. I sew up a whole outfit including George Hoody, Joseph joggers and Lemon tee. These three basic unisex easy-to-sew patterns can be worn together or can be matched with leggings, skirts and dresses to dress up any kid.

Now you'll want to head over to MaMeMiMo to check out more details (including what fabric is inside that hood!)
