Project Night and Day with It'sLiesel

Our next contributor on the Project Night and Day blog tour is Liesel! She sewed some of the new patterns, with a Midnight theme, and is sharing all the details today!

I was hoping for some quick inspiration when I needed to get my fabric order placed quickly, and all black seemed to be something that I wouldn't have to overthink. I'm so happy with how it turned out! I used Raspberry Creek flannel, custom printed double brushed poly, and their fairly new air flow fabric.

I made the new Starlite Dress, which is from Project Run and Play in double brushed poly. I love the exposed ruffle! It gives the tiered dress an exciting detail. The print was from their Halloween collection, but it's perfectly not spooky, and just says midnight :) It's so twirly and soft, and I know my daughter will be asking to wear this one all the time!

The Sunset button up shirt is a classic, but the proportions are all right! I love the size and height of the collar, the pocket shape and placement, and all the finishing details! This one is designed by Waves and Wild, but you can get it in the Project Run and Play Shop! The Robert Kaufman flannel is so thick, soft, and glorious. And perfect for the theme. The first time my son saw this fabric, he said, "It's outer space!"

What a pair of cuties, if I do say so myself :)

This next dress is a Celestial maxi dress in black Air Flow fabric! My daughter is just above the size chart, but with the amount of ease in the bust, plus just adding a smidge of width to the pieced bodice, and length to the sleeves and skirt, it works amazingly! This fabric is polyester, but created to behave more like a natural fiber, and I will have to say it was very easy to work with!

I'm picturing lace insets between the tiers of my next Celestial. It's going to be an amazing base for some fun flowy dresses.
