For color week it only seemed natural to ask our friend Shauna from Shwin and Shwin to be our guest judge.
(I'm sure that we aren't the only ones who have noticed her fabulous eye for color.)
We've been following Shwin and Shwin since we discovered them through Project Run and Play season 1 and we always admired her use of color. Most of her children's clothing is finished with bold, solid fabrics with colors that perfectly complement her designs such as:
The awesome green that she used on her "Nowhere Man" Pants.
(Which just so happens to be my favorite pattern of hers.)
Or the bold blue that she used on this wool coat.
Sometimes we may be afraid to go with a bold or solid color but we should take a lesson from Shauna and jump right it.
We can start by adding fun little pops of color like she did here with her Maggie May Button Down.
Or the fun touch of red in her Peek-a-Boo Stripes Dress.
Shauna really has mastered the art of using color in clothing design and we are excited to see how you all have used it for the challenge this week.
Hooray for color!
