Guest Judge: Kate from See Kate Sew.

I was so flattered when e+l invited me to guest judge this week, they know me so well! I love high fashion and designed one of my looks after Twiggy during my season. I almost picked another 60s icon for this look, but I resisted and picked an icon from today!

One of my favorite modern day fashion icons is Zooey Deschanel. She is always wearing girly, flirty outfits and she's just so stinking cute. Her style is very retro, feminine, and youthful, and I would pretty much wear anything she wears! She is consistently cute. And that translates well into little girl clothes.

So I made a Zooey-inspired look: a pink petal tunic and very gathered silk bloomers. The look is taken directly from two photos of the icon. (Sorry, no model until January, she's not done cooking yet!)

The tunic is a melon viole with cut out and hand stitched flower petals, like the ones on Zooey's light pink top. I loved the skirt in the second photo so I mimiked a similar look with balloony bloomers made from shiny silk with gathering at the legs.
I took photo for tutorials, so stay tuned on see kate sew for those (as soon as I put them together).

Thanks for having me! So excited to see the designer looks!
