  2. After looking through Jess's blog, I really hoped that this was the pattern to be chosen. My 2nd Grade Granddaughter is learning to sew, and with no zippers or buttons this dress will be perfect for her to try to sew. She wants to make her first dress for her sisters' birthday on March 18th. Thanks for the pattern Jess.

    2. I thought the same thing! I'm planning to have my daughter give this dress a try as well. They'll be in good company.

  3. Has anyone started on this one yet? I've cut out the pieces in a 3T today and am not sure about the skirt - it seems to be so much fabric - 88" to be gathered down to 22", is that correct? That more than 2m of fabric around a tiny girls tummy!? Any tips appreciated.

    1. feel free to alter the width! I like super full skirts - but it does make for a bunchier waist :).

  4. Yeah, I thought it was a lot of fabric, too. I upped the size of the bodice because my daughter is bigger, but even with a bigger waist it is a lot of fabric. It'll be cute, though. I can't wait to finish.

  5. So I'm new here- do I need photos of my kids wearing what I made? I photographed it on a hanger, but... it's not the same. Because there is about a foot of snow on the ground outside and this dress is sleeveless... Any suggestions?

    1. Sabrina,
I would suggest a picture of your child wearing the dress. Look at this post from the "It's Always Autumn" blog.
      http://www.itsalwaysautumn.com/2013/06/10/20-fantastic-diy-photography-backdrops-backgrounds.html.
It discusses 20 suggestions for photography backdrops. I hope that helps you.
