Today we've got a giveaway for you! And it's super easy to enter.
To win this $25 gift certificate from Fabric Mart, all you have to do is answer the question below in the comments section.
We noticed fewer people than usual sewed along this season, and we want to know why. Leave us your feedback below:
Did you sew along during Season 13 of Project Run & Play? Why or why not?
One random answer will be chosen and awarded the $25 gift certificate to Fabric Mart. Thank you!
I do not, life is just to busy right now. Work is busy and after school activities have ramped up, and I just haven't been able to squeeze it in. I do love seeing what other create though.
ReplyDeleteI did not sew. I am (not so) patiently waiting on my daughter to produce a grandchild to sew for but I love seeing everyone else's creations.
ReplyDeleteI sure did! It was a true bucket list sort of thing for me. I have wanted to for a long time, but my distance from fabric stores or finding out about the themes too late have always interfered. This year the themes worked quite well with the stash I had on hand so I went for it and loved it. I've also been long contemplating starting my own blog and this was a way for me to test the waters and see if it's an avenue I should step into. I did, however, also notice a big drop in sew along entries. I could not for the life of me remember correctly if I read a few seasons ago that there was a change from judging the sew along entries to drawing names from a hat for the win. Not sure if that is what I read or if that might affect people.
ReplyDeleteYou're right...we did have random winners from the sew along for a while. But it was not popular and we've gone back to a panel of judges. Thanks for your feedback!
DeleteI wanted to sew along & just didn't. 😕 No good reason, just didn't.
ReplyDeleteI really wanted to sew along, but my kids caught something nasty in March, and I had a birthday party to plan. I loved seeing what everyone else sewed!
ReplyDeleteThis is my first year finding this contest and while I would have loved to, I understood it was just for people who draft their own patterns. I'm working on that, but I don't feel like I've quite mastered it yet. I just don't have the vision yet. I look forward to giving it a shot next time though!
ReplyDeleteStephani, the sew along is for anyone to sew any patterns - you don't have to draft them yourself! Please join in next time!
DeleteI did not. This post just reminded me about this sew along. Sounds like fun! I'll have to try it next time.
ReplyDeleteI loved the themes and had hopes of sewing along with at least one or two, but time was against me. I sometimes think I find out too late about the themes to really prepare something (I'm a slow sewer :) )
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I did not. Life got crazy busy and is just starting to settle. Also, as crazy as it sounds, we got so many hands me down, my kids do not need any more clothes!!!!! I will be back sewing shortly for summer outfits.
ReplyDeleteI did, not every week, but a couple times. I try to sew along at least one week of each season (it doesn't always work out but I like to set that goal for myself.) I started following PRP in the very beginning which happened to be when I was learning to sew. It has always been very inspirational for me and I love that anyone who wants to is welcome and encouraged to sew along! I have always loved that about PRP.
ReplyDeleteI didn't between having a dress to sew for my mom on a deadline, then illness, my sister giving birth, wanting to make my daughter's Easter dress and a matching top for msyelf, and spraining my ankle. Just bad timing this time, I think.
ReplyDeleteI did not, due to moving in February and having baby #3 born in March :) I don't usually though, because there's always something when all your kids are teeny! I do enjoy looking at the participants' posts though.
ReplyDeleteI didn't. I want to join all the things but time is scarce and I've been sewing mostly for myself lately.
ReplyDeleteI didn't sew along, I like seeing others creations, but I'm intimidated to sew something myself.
ReplyDeleteI did sew for each of the themes. I even made more than one entry for three of the weeks! It was a stretch and we ate take-out a lot but it was a lot of fun and my friends enjoyed getting special things for their children. I also felt like the contest time line held me to a deadline. I got more accomplished during this time than I have in a long time. Thank you for opportunity!
ReplyDeleteI always follow and vote on every season but i don't join in on the sew along as i'm not on instagram and don't have a blog. Maybe if you had some sort of community site like kids clothes week do, i could join in. Just a thought. :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't though I made plans (like the last few times) but I'm a procrastinator and a slow sewist so sewing with deadlines is not my strong side. On the other side I did vote every week. :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't. I always love seeing what the contestants create but time was against me this time! We moved and it was just a busy season.
ReplyDeleteI participated the first two weeks and had a dress ready for the third but got sick and wasn't able to finish out the sew along.
ReplyDeleteI didn't participate this time because I've been quite busy this year, and didn't really have time. Also, I wasn't sure if the sew-along winner was still being chosen randomly or not- I much prefer to sew along when the winner is chosen based on merit rather than luck. And, the final blow- I didn't have any clever ideas to go with the themes!
ReplyDeleteThe sew along is judged by a panel of judges now. We tried random, but it wasn't popular! ;)
DeleteFinances are too tight for me to sew just because. These days, it's mending, birthdays, swim suits, christmas, or special occasion. I just don't have the money to buy materials and my stash is starting to get thin.
ReplyDeleteI didn't sew along this time because I committed to the deep stash sewing challenge and it was/is more challenging than I expected.
ReplyDeleteI did not. And actually haven't ever done so. I WANT to...the contest just always seems to land in a time of year where I have little to no free time. Which I suspect has something to do with my life stage and with the ages and number of my kids.
ReplyDeleteI did not participate but hope to one day. I am committed to making a quilt for someone out of baby clothes. So my time is committed to this and I do not allow myself to take on anything extra.
ReplyDeleteI did not once again because I have very little time right now. Life is so crazy this time of year. I have 7 kids who are getting to the end of the school year which means tons of activities. We are also getting ready to move and I am packing, cleaning, and repairing a house by myself right now because my husband has already moved. Hopefully someday I will actually get to participate.
ReplyDeleteI usually sew along, but this time I wasn't able to. I thought all the themes sounded fun and had plans for each one, but after a recent move to a new house and my sewing room being repainted, I just couldn't make it happen. I loved seeing what everyone else created, and I'm looking forward to next season! I love PRP, and plan to sew along next time. :)
ReplyDeleteI was in the middle of a move- love seeing all the creations!
ReplyDeleteNo sewing for me this time. I had been ill, and was waiting on a surgery date. Done with that now & healing up well..so maybe next time. Love seeing everyone else's creations though!
ReplyDeleteSpring is a tough time for me to get much sewing done: spring cleaning inside, yard clean up outside, birthdays, etc. Life just got too busy for me! The little bit of sewing time I managed to squeeze in ended up being more mending and altering things for the coming seasons than sewing new things!
ReplyDeleteI sewed along this time, and I did for season 11 as well! I've also gone through the archives and compiled a list of past themes to sew for when I have a down week with no pattern tests or events coming up. I love the show Project Runway, and how a specific theme forces creativity, and I love incorporating that into my own creative process when I need some inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI was in the middle of a move!
ReplyDeleteno! but when life isn't so busy, i would like to!
ReplyDeleteI sewed along week 1 (and actually 2 and 3) but then ended up super sick so forgot to blog them/enter them in... so yeah lol best intentions failed execution...
ReplyDeleteWe have 2.5 weeks of spring break, and were hosting Teacher meals the week before for teacher conferences. It was just too busy of a time for us. Starting early in February or later in April would work better for me, not sure about anyone else.
ReplyDeleteThis time of the year I am recovering from the sewing frenzy of Christmas followed by six family birthdays from the end of December through March! So, I'm not sewing anything with a deadline for a while, but I did enjoy seeing what others made!

I didn't sew along this time because we had a baby the beginning of March and it just wasn't feasible to make something, take pictures and blog about it in a short time frame. I enjoyed seeing other people's makes though!

ReplyDeleteI wanted to sew along but my model being in school limits availability and it is a terrible time of year to get photos where I live due to weather.
ReplyDeleteI didn't sew along this time..although I have many times in the past. Life is busy, we moved and I have been focusing on sewing pillows, window seat covers and recovering furniture for our new house. I really wanted to though, just couldn't find the time at the end of a busy day!
ReplyDeleteI sewed for week 2,3,and 4. It's fun to participate, but I also noticed that not many people visited my blog to read about my designs as they have in the past.

I am new to this, so I didn't participate.
ReplyDeleteWe want to jump in and sew-along again one day, but as for this season - we did not. Why? Two words: Easter dresses! Other factors influenced our not sewing along as well . . . but three Easter dresses are the main reason.
ReplyDeleteI'm new around here so I didn't participate. I did enjoy seeing the creations though. Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteWith the kids growing up I am so busy that I sew what we need (not fun wants) and often for myself. Those two things didn't fit into the categories listed at the right times. I do love seeing all the creations. Honestly though, I was disappointed by the lack of contestants with boys this round.
ReplyDeleteI didn't sew along because I don't have an active blog, not having a blog is also why I've never tried to get a spot in a Project Run and Play season. It seems as if having a blog is kind of a requirement.
ReplyDeleteIt looked fun, but I just didn't have the time/energy with working full time.
ReplyDeleteI didn't, but wanted too. My reasons include: recent move, very pregnant, busy with work and unpacking. Hopefully next time!
ReplyDeleteI didn't... I don't feel like I have in a long time, I sew simple/boring stuff mainly and just like watching the fancy things other folks make!
ReplyDeleteWow! I wish I would have seen this giveaway sooner :( It's so great.

I'm late to commenting on this, but I wanted to throw one more thing. I've never joined the sew-along because it seems to be a photography competition as much as a sewing competition. Doesn't matter what I sew or how well, I don't have a camera (just an iphone), my house is not beautiful, and I have no interest in hauling furniture or props outside.
