Hi, I'm Kari of That's-Sew-Kari and I'm humbled to be included in Project Smooth Sorbet. Being primarily a sewing blogger, it's a bit surreal to see patterns that I've created. I couldn't have asked for a more supportive group of designers who jumped in and helped me along the way. I'm especially appreciative of Susana of Suco by Susana for turning my tracings into printable pattern pieces. These two purse patterns are a great introduction to sewing bags and are beginner friendly. I hope you love them as much as my girls do!
The inspiration for Fetta and Frutta came from my first week for Project Run and Play (Season 23). Our prompt was Analogous Colors and I chose Yellow, Gold and Yellow-Green from the color wheel. My youngest daughter had lemons on her dress and I wanted a fun purse to match. Browsing Pinterest one night, I saw a purse that looked like a lemon slice. It was so fun that I had to make it happen!
Of course, I knew my oldest needed a purse too. Her dress fabric reminded me of a golden pineapple (and my chosen fabrics would also give her all 3 colors to her outfit). The final product was the "fix" of a fail the night before photos. These two purses ended up being at the top of my favorite sews for the whole contest.
ALL the patterns in this collection will launch May 24th. (Be sure to follow us on Instagram for a chance to win it before you can buy it...)
