Hey everyone! I'm Tricia and I am so ridiculously excited to be competing on season 26 of Project Run and Play!
I live in Fresno, California, I'm a full-time 6th grade teacher, and a single mom. That doesn't always leave a lot of time for sewing, but sewing really is my happy place. I love creating and I absolutely love the online sewing community. I feel like I've made some real friends here and I'm constantly inspired by the creativity and talent I see every day. I'm honored to get to sew along side the other talented contestants here.
My sewing story hasn't been a traditional one. I can be pretty spontaneous sometimes. I remember it like yesterday...I was sitting on the couch, looking at little girls' clothing when my daughter Noemi was about 6 months old. I remember thinking, "All of these clothes are so cute. I wish I could start a children's clothing line." I mentioned that to my now ex-husband and he said, "How are you going to do that? You don't even know how to sew." So, being the stubborn, determined person that I am, I borrowed a sewing machine and hopped online two days later. Thanks to the University of YouTube, Professor Pinterest, and all of you, I taught myself to sew. I'm so thankful that I now have this hobby that allows me to be creative and bond with Noemi. 99% of what I sew is for her, and photoshoots are one of our absolute favorite things to do together. I hope you can see how much she loves modeling in our photos throughout this competition.
