How Long Have you been Sewing?
Since I was 16!!
What is your Favorite Thing to Sew?
Clothes for me…(don’t tell my kids!) But I adore making fall clothes, maybe because we’re going into fall? But it’s my Season, so I’m currently up for all the french terry sweatshirts, sweaters, and canvas and denim skirts.
Other Hobbies Beside Sewing?
Somehow I’ve become a crazy plant lady, I guess because I don’t have enough kids and animals to look after already. But whether it’s gardening outside, or houseplants inside, I really enjoy plants.
How Long have you Followed Project Run & Play?
Since Season 8!!
Who Inspires You?
Everyone who sews along with PR&P. And all the past designers. And my kids as they’re finding their own unique fashion styles. And my grandma…one of the classiest ladies.
Favorite Ice Cream Flavor?
Favorite Ice Cream Flavor? Chocolate? Followed closely by blueberry cheesecake. Now I’m hungry!
Jenny from Made of Starlight:
How Long Have you been Sewing?
My grandma taught me to sew at 5-years-old. Both my grandmothers were meticulous seamstresses, and every visit was accompanied by at least one sewing project! My mom made all of our costumes growing up, for Halloween and for theatre productions, and always let me use her machines to practice, despite me not knowing how to thread them, and ruining the tension on more than one occasion. I started by making doll clothes as a kid, then graduated to costumes by high school. Once my daughter was born, I started sewing more often than a few times a year, and discovered the online sewing community! It's been 8 years, and I love everything I've learned here
What is your Favorite Thing to Sew?
Themed collections! I started designing them for paper dolls at age 8, and never stopped
Other Hobbies Beside Sewing?
I teach Showchoir and musical theatre at various production companies and homeschool groups in my community. I homeschool my kids, and I'm also an avid reader!
How Long have you Followed Project Run & Play?
Since season 4! Way back when I only had a little boy to sew for, and no idea about all the cute boy patterns out there in the indie sewing community
Who Inspires You?
I find most of my sewing inspiration on Instagram! I follow tons of kids clothing retailers and fashion houses, and I always have my phone out to take pictures if I see something cute while I'm out!
Favorite Ice Cream Flavor?
That's a tough call, because I LOVE ice cream Usually I go with vanilla ice cream with mix-ins...like garam crackers, chocolate chips, and marshmallow fluff, or cheesecake and raspberries, or cake mix, hot fudge, and sprinkles, or oreos and caramel...now I want ice cream!
