Pantone Party: Made of Starlite X Style Maker Fabrics

To finish out the week, here is Jenny of Made of Starlite with her Pantone Party look, sponsored by StyleMaker Fabrics!

Project Run and Play's annual Pantone Party is always one of my favorite blog tours! I'm a huge color palate nerd, and I totally geek out about what crazy color Pantone chooses as the Color of the Year. 😄 If you've stopped by my Instagram, you've probably noticed that my daughter and I are huge fans of all things pink, which means we were super pumped about the super saturated Vivid Magenta!

I was soooooooo excited to play with these *beautiful* fabrics from Style Maker Fabrics!!! They made it super easy to find something that matched the color with a special tab labeled Viva Magenta. There were so many amazing choices, it was super hard to choose!

I've been dying to get my hands on some of the cotton sateen designed by Ruby Star Society. This stunning fabric exceeded my sky high expectations! It's satin-y and drapes so well and just the right weight and did you know it is a whopping 108" WIDE?? I only needed a yard and a half for this cute dress AND lining for our coat!

For the dress, I tried a new to me pattern from the shop: the Infinite A-line Dress. Where has this pattern been hiding?! It's so cute! Great fit, so many options! My only disappointment is that it only goes up to size 8. But she's still a size 6, so we have a couple more years left to get plenty of mileage out of it!

I did hack the dress for a zipper, because I absolutely despise buttons. She can't dress herself, the buttons always pop off, and the button holes constantly come unraveled, leaving stray threads hanging off your adorable creation! Not cool buttonholes, not cool. 😑

The first fabric I spotted scrolling the Style Maker website was this gorgeous Raspberry Boiled Wool. It was begging to become a statement coat!

I started with the Woodland Wanderer Coat. I probably should have slimmed it down a touch, but I wanted to make sure it would fit over all her super fuzzy sweaters! I cropped it to be the same length in the bodice as the Noel Dress, and then I added a super full 3/4 circle skirt from another pattern I already owned. And of course it has inseam pockets! Can't have a coat without pockets!

We kept the hood and lined it with super soft white fur from my scrap box (which is taking over my sewing room!! Send help!) and I opted for snaps on the inside rather than buttons. (See above for button rant.)

We are both just SO thrilled with how these came out! Thanks Style Maker Fabrics for bringing to life all of our wildest Viva Magenta dreams!!

See you Monday for another week of incredible Viva Magenta designs by more incredibly talented past Project Run and Play Designers!
