Vintage and Retro- My Interpretation

So, some of you may look at this outfit and think "Where was she coming from?" It's not super vintage. I was thinking more along the lines of retro- and by retro, I mean 90's grunge. 1990 was twenty years ago, so that totally counts, right? No? Ok. I missed the mark. Good thing you guys aren't judging me.

But you can't deny that this outfit is true to the 90's. Flannel plaid? Check. Doc Marten's? Check. Unwashed hair? Check. (Just kidding- she had a bath last night. She just has this uncanny ability of instantly tangling her hair into a mess). She was a little grumpy for this shoot, but I did catch this little smile.
That's my sweet girl.

  1. I like it. Retro, yes. At least per ETSY rules. They say 20 years or older for vintage.

  6. I didn't. One of these days I plan on making tutorials for my designs, but right now it's all I can do to get them photographed and posted [ie, Valentine's Day interpretation is still unphotographed. I might just count that as a loss, and move on. :)] I basically made a peasant-style dress with the elastic casing neckline, and shirred the bodice with elastic thread.
