Season 4 Auditions Start Today!!!!

The auditions are here....and boy are we excited!  We seriously can't wait to see what you all have been hiding in your sewing rooms over the last couple of weeks.

Today starts the audition spots for the two final designers for Season 4.  There are a couple of rules, so please read them carefully before linking up.

Rules:

*By linking up to the Season 4 audition linky party you are agreeing to be part of Project Run and Play season 4, which begins April 9th and ends May 21st.  (I guess what we are trying to say is please don't agree to too many things during this time....we, and all of the other contestants can tell you, that it is a lot of work to get the weekly outfit ready, photographed and have the posts in on time.)

*Please just one linky per person or blog, this will make it easier on the judges.  Also, please make sure your linky is going to your audition outfit and not just your blog in general.  It would also be good to put some details in your post of how you made the outfit or any other information that you would like the judges to know.

*All audtions must be linked up to this post and NOT in the flickr group (anything in the flickr group will not count).

*You have from today until Thursday, March 8th at 5:00 PM (MST) to link up your audition outfit.  Sorry, but there can't be any exceptions....they will go to judging that night and then the top 5 will be up for voting starting Friday, March 9th at 6:00 AM (MST) until Sunday, March 11th at 10:00 PM (MST).  The top 2 vote-getters will be announced next Monday morning along with all of the other designers for Season 4.

* One helpful hint (this is from me, so you can take it or leave it ;)  Make your photography count.  Photography is a big part of Project Run & Play because we can't see your outfits in real life.  My personal advice would be to use natural lighting.  I tend to use natural light in most of my photos because things just look so much better (although I always avoid direct sunlight....it is super harsh on your pictures).  Also, try to get a good picture of the outfit (I know with children that is easier said than done) but it will help your chances if the judges can see the outfit clearly.  Another of my tricks is to take a LOT of pictures.  When shooting our little ones (especially 2 or more) I tend to take up to a hundred pictures.  I can easily weed out the ones I don't want and then crop or photoshop ones that I do want later.

*Whew.....ok, I think that is all.  So, link away!!!!  (Oh, one more thing.....please spread the word!  We know that there are LOTS of talented sewists out there!)

Good luck everyone!!!

  1. I am so nervous and so so anxious. I highly doubt I will beat the fifty bajillion other talented people who are entering to vie for one of two spots but I firmly believe in 'you gotta be in it to win it!'

Good luck everyone who enters! ♥

  2. I am in a little bit of disbelief that I just entered and I am in no way deluded enough to think I'm going to make it, but you never know until you try! I am so excited just for the season to start!!!!

  5. Thanks for setting up an open audition...I partly feel like Jacki O, and on the other side of things, I just love a challenge. Just prepping to enter this made me focus more and gave me a lot of faith in what I'm capable of. I'm just glad to post a picture and cringe in wait. :) Thanks again, and GL everyone!

  6. Crystal....you should have a little wrench next to your linky when you open this page. If you click on the wrench you should be able to edit it.

  7. Just kidding....you can delete your own entry, but not edit it. You might have to delete it and then re-add it to change the name.
