Hi, I am Christina and I blog over at 2 little hooligans. I am a married, stay at home Momma to three little ones who is obsessed with all things crafty and homemade. My blog is where I share our lives in New Hampshire, home renovations, gardening, crafting, sewing and of course lots of pictures of the" kiddos".
I first learned how to sew in highschool, but it wasn't until after my second child was born three years ago that my love for sewing really grew. I started out making baby items and before I knew it my mind was thinking up new designs for just about anything I saw that was made out of fabric. For years I shyed away from making clothes, but thanks to all the amazing sewing blogs out there that inspire me daily, I finally gave it a try. And like them, I fell in love with it too. Within the past 6 months I have gone from only knowing how to make basic pillowcase and peasant dresses to making dresses with bodices and more complicated pieces.
Yes, I still have so much to learn as far as the basic construction and techniques that go into making garments. But hopefully by competing in Project Run and Play I can better my skills and my designs. My designs are casual, comfortable and practical to wear. They always have a little bit of girly-ness in there without being over the top. Most of the fabrics and materials that I use were on sale or in the clearance section. I hardly ever pay full price. These kiddos of mine grow too fast and play too hard to invest a lot of money into their clothing. Plus, I want my kiddos to live and play in the clothes I make them. To me, there is nothing more rewarding then seeing them run around in one of the dresses I made them.
Thanks again Elizabeth and Liz for asking me to be part of Season 5. I am beyond honored and still in shock that I am competing. I have a lot to learn in a short period of time I just hope that I can make some garments that will wow all of you...as well as my kiddos. See you all on the Runway!
it's nice to meet you (yes, see you on the runway!)
