Giveaway---Megan Nielsen Patterns (either maternity pack or 4 pattern pack)

Today's giveaway is AWESOME!!!!
(Really...I want it all for myself!)

Today you have a chance to win your choice of either a maternity pack or a 4 pattern pack from Megan Nielsen

Have you seen her patterns????

Ridiculously cute right?

Now...I know what you are thinking...this is Project Run and Play and over here we are all about sewing children's clothing.

And you are right BUT it's ok to sew something for yourself every once in awhile as well.
(It really is.)

So, if you want to win your choice of a maternity pack or a 4 pack of patterns just head over to MEGAN'S SHOP and tell us which pattern is your favorite.

(And for fun...leave us a comment telling us who is your favorite person to sew for...yourself, a baby, your little boy, your tween girl?  Who is your favorite?)

Good Luck!

  1. Awesome giveawayǃ I don't have kids yet, so I mostly sew for myselfǃ But I also love making baby gifts...tiny things are so fun ː) I think the Rie dress/top is adorable.

  2. Got to say - even though am not pregnant the maternity / nursing lingerie set would be the favourite...just because I remember how hard it was to find nice things for me when I was in that circumstance!

My favourite person to sew for is my friend's little girl, Gemma - she appreciates it so much! (my kids are starting to just expect and accept it...)

  3. I sew for myself and for my son, although I must say, sewing for him, is much more fun, no need to worry about fit, projects are quick and take such little fabric. I love her new pattern, Kelly skirt,Banksia top and darling ranges dress. Thanks for a lovely giveaway.

  4. I LOVE the Banksia top (peter pan collar, of course!)
I don't have much time to sew for myself, unfortunately, but when I do find the time, I love making myself new tops that fit properly!

  5. Wow, what a great giveaway. I've had my eye on the Banksia top for ages now, but really all her patterns are fab! I don't have a favourite person to sew for, as long as I get to sew, although I think I might be a little contrary because I never want to do a project if I'm obliged to.

  6. I love her darling ranges dress! I don't have any kids of my own but still love sewing for bubs and kids. I'm having to force myself to sew for myself lately - I need clothes too! Haha

  7. I'm awful, but I love to sew for myself. Love her banksia top. I've been wanting to try it for a while!

  8. My favorite pattern is the ruched maternity t shirt sewing pattern. Why you ask?
Because last night I found out that I'm pregnant for the second time. Ohh the joy :D Last time I was pregnant was 9 years ago and all my maternity clothes have been sold or given to others. So I'm i dire need of some sweet and easy basics for the coming 8 months :)

I love sewing for my daughter of course and cat-toys for our 5 year old cat :)

  11. It think I would go for the darling ranges dress, though I also love that kelly skirt.

I go through moods, and it has a lot to do with the type of project and the attitude of the recipient on who like to sew for. My son has been especially appreciative, so I have been thrilled to make him new outfits. But, frankly, I am getting weary of children's clothes and I have several patterns ready to go for me!

  13. The Darling Ranges dress looks like a great project.

I love sewing - doesn't really matter who it's for. One of my favourite things I made was pyjamas for husband - fun to make something for someone I don't usually sew for.

  16. My favourite is the Banksia top.
Ooh, who do I love sewing for? I have 4 kids, 9yrs thru nearly 3yrs, so any sewing is good! But I love to see them in clothing I've sewn and they really appreciate having something different.
But my son (I have 3 girls and 1 boy) is super appreciative so he really is a joy to sew for, and I don't do it often enough :)

  17. I really love the Darling Ranges dress and have been trying to decide what fabric to use before I bought the pattern

I mostly sew for myself, but lately I've been able to do some sewing for some friends' new babies.

  19. OKay, I don't even have to go to her site to tell you which pattern is next on my list to buy... the Banksia! Seeing all the variations from the sewalong recently has totally gotten me hooked, and that peter pan collar is PERFECT! I literally almost JUMPED out of my chair when I saw this 4 pack of patterns, because I'm pretty sure I will tell my husband I HAVE to get pregnant right now, if I won... so do us all a favor Mr. Random and PICK ME! 20. I love sewing for myself and my little girl, but it seems like I always end up sewing gifts instead. I'd love the maternity pattern pack- I've been eyeing it now that I'm pregnant with my 2nd. I borrowed most of my maternity clothes last time so it would be fabulous to make myself some basics!

  25. I love the perfect nursing and maternity top. You could do so many things with that pattern! I love the idea of sewing for me, but my favourite person to sew for is my son, who is nearly four. He has really started to enjoy chosing fabric and designs so its fun to collaborate on pieces that we both love him to wear. Thanks for this chance to win!

  30. My favorite is the nursing top.

Whom I like to sew for the best varies on circumstance.

About a year ago I was my favorite person because I couldn't find any decent maternity clothing! Oh had I only known about Megan's patterns then! I was having to expend a lot of effort modifying patterns because so few decent maternity patterns exist. Megan's are great!

Currently my favorite is sewing household items.

My baby boy is now getting big enough that I'll soon start sewing for him as well. Previously I swore off sewing for anything less than size 9M due to how much time it takes to fuss over small sleeves and legs and how small the window to wear the item.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I love the Rie dress/top. It would come in handy since surprise #5 is getting too big to allow me to fit into anything.

I love sewing for....well, between mending, making capes, Halloween costumes and gifts, I never thought about who I like to sew for most. I guess as long as I am happy with the project, it does not matter who it is for.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Well, I'm not pregnant and I don't plan to be. So, I think I will look at the other patterns...One moment while I go look...OK, I'm back. I think I like the Kelly Skirt. Thanks for the chance to win.

I like sewing for my children, but I can't decide which one is the most fun to sew for. They all have their perks. I love the challenge of sewing something exciting for my son, sewing fun pretty things for my daughter, and the speed I can sew things for my baby.

  57. What an awesome giveaway! I've been wanting some of Megan's patterns for awhile. My favorite is a toss-up between the wrap top and the lingerie set. Although I love sewing for the little ones in my family and my friends' families, my favorite people to sew for are definitely my mom and my grandma because they have made so many things for me and they are so tickled to be on the receiving end of a sewing project. :D

    ReplyDelete
  58. I thought the Kelly skirt was my favorite, and I do love it, but the Banksia top has to be my favorite! I have a hard time finding tops that I like to sew and this one would definitely be one.

I sew the most for my almost-teen daughter. We have a lot of fun picking patterns and fabrics! She is learning to sew, too, which is great because we get to spend a lot of quality time together!

    Thanks for the opportunity.

    ReplyDelete
  72. The Darling Ranges dress has been on my sewing wish list for some time now... But all those buttonholes, yikes! Sewing for my two little girls is my favorite because no matter how well I sew a garment for them it will always look cute when they wear it, I cannot say the same when I sew for myself :)

    ReplyDelete
  73. I really like the Banksia top. I do have fun making clothes for my kids, but I'm looking forward to being done being pregnant so I can start making clothes for myself - and hopefully get good at it.

  77. I love the banksia. I love all the sewalong stuff and options. I love sewing for my youngest. She is still little enough that everything I make is "soooo pretty". Sewing for kids is so nice because their figures are so easy to fit.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I'm in love with the Darling Ranges and the Banksia. My favorite person to sew for lately is myself. My older daughter used to be the main person I sewed for but she is getting older and prefers leggings and tshirts which are too reasonable at the store to be worth sewing at home these days. My son has outgrown mama made apparel as well. My youngest daughter gets blood on every outfit. She runs around like a Derby girl so I don't sew a ton for her. My littlest isn't walking yet so his clothes get dragged around on the sidewalk and the floor. I'm, quite frankly, the only one who takes good care of her clothes these days ;) I do like making quilts for the kiddos and toys and treats though :)

  86. Definitely the Perfect Nursing and Maternity Top pattern! I'm working on our third girl right now, so this would be perfect. I love sewing for my girls, which happens more frequently than for myself, but I do love when I can make a good quality piece for myself.

    ReplyDelete
  87. What a great giveaway! I'm super excited that you are giving away the maternity pattern pack, I've been wanting that since it debuted.

To answer the question, I really enjoy shopping for patterns for myself but I enjoy sewing for my son and for other children. I think it's because kid's clothes are small and can be completed in a short amount of time and they constantly need new stuff so the sewing will never end...err...at least for a while! LOL!

I love to sew for my youngest who is almost 7 and still is fairly small. I can whip her something up quickly and painlessly and she always loves it.
My tween (almost teen) is much more challenging to get anything to fit right on her mutating body. LOL That dress pattern, though, would look adorable on her.

  117. I love them all, but my favourite would have to be the Rie dress and top pattern. I love sewing for my 3 year old daughter, especially when she chooses to wear it without being forced into them :)

    ReplyDelete
  118. I'd choose any and all of the maternity patterns, probably starting with the t-shirt. Im now stepping into the world of knit, which is new and exciting though rather intimidating. . I'm currently pregnant with baby #5, and am dreading hunting through the racks and racks of poor quality, lousy fit, and overpriced maternity clothes available. Some high quality patterns would be AWESOME! Plus, with this many kids I need my sewing breaks for sanity's sake!

    ReplyDelete
  119. Um, I love her wrap around top. I am no longer pregnant, but I kept thinking (when I was) that I should buy it and make it. It just looks SO comfy! My favourite person to sew for is my son - I love making him little T-shirts that have something other than Disney characters on them - he gets to pick how to personalize them. I'm so much more confident making clothes for him and I love how he loves them so much!

    ReplyDelete
  120. The darling ranges dress; the dresses I've seen from that pattern look so beautiful. I enjoy sewing for my boy, although I just had a baby girl and started sewing for her too. 137. I've been in love with her maternity/nursing lingerie patterns for ages. I just wore whatever old t-shirt worked after my first and it would definitely be nice to have something lovely instead this time around. On my Christmas list for sure!

  139. I also love that maternity survival pack. I still wear my maternity tops even though i'm no longer prego. And having a skirt that fits a pregnant belly is always a must. I love to sew for my family, i'm not the best seamstress but i'm trying to learn all the time. I love making pajamas at Christmas for my hubby & 2 girls and making things for my 2 beautiful monsters is always a pleasure.

I honestly don't have a favorite person to sew for, I love to sew for everybody...I'm just not a huge fan of sewing home decor.

  147. I love sewing for people I know. I have an Etsy shop, but I enjoy knowing who I am sewing for. I love it when my kids ask me to sew xyorz for them. They challenge me more than I would otherwise. I love that they ask, and I am not pushing my creations on them. I am definitely more comfortable with girl creations. My husband has even made some requests, surprise! Watching their excitement when they see it and then use it and love it are so motivating!
