Since we found out a little bit already about her here, I asked Delia some fun questions for today.
1. Who do you sew for?
I
mostly sew for my daughter because she's my youngest and the most
appreciative of mama made clothes ;). I also do some sewing for my two
boys and myself.
That
scotch tape is for more than just taping together patterns! I use it to
hold buttons in place when I sew them on my machine. I use it to "pin"
leather together sometimes, when I can't use actual pins. I put it on
the bottom of my presser foot to keep it from sticking to vinyl or
leather. I always keep a roll of it with my sewing supplies.
3. Do you have a favorite material to sew with? If so, what?
I wouldn't say it's necessarily my favorite to *sew*, but my favorite fabric to wear and put my kids in, is knit.
4. Where do you see your blog in 5 years?
Good
question. As a blogger of seven years, I've witnessed first hand how
much the blogging landscape has changed during that time. So, for that
reason, I'd have to go with...no clue. ;) In 5 years, I would like to think I'm still working in a creative field.
I
always seem to have a few too many WIP projects open at once. I am
currently redecorating my daughter's room which includes a lot of
furniture painting and pillow making at the moment. I've also got fun,
easy summer craft projects in the works, as well as a sundress for me!
Honestly, I can't think of anyone I'd rather sew for than my family and the people I love. <3
Neoprene!
I consider myself creatively omnivorous, so I'm working with a variety of companies: Fabric.com, Silhouette, and Michaels.
I
really like the bell sleeve trend. It seems to be flattering on almost
anyone of any age, and it's fairly simple to sew. I'm also digging the
return of the 90's. I admit, at first I resisted it, but the nostalgia
is winning me over. Bring on the overalls and chokers!
A suit for both of my boys is probably my most ambitious project. My
first attempt at a suit had crooked welt pockets and a serious lack of
interfacing, but I still love it because it made me brave. It became the
measuring stick for trying new patterns and techniques. I would tell
myself that if I could make a suit, then surely I could at least try
anything.

Thank you, Delia for being such a good sport and answering my questions. We are so happy you will be judging our link party!
If you haven't already linked up, you still have 3 days left to do it! The winner of the sew along will win $100 gift certificate to Stylish Fabric.
