For Season 18, there is a very impressive lineup of guest judges! Each one of these talented ladies have attained celebrity status in the sewing community, and it's such an honor to have them with us. In order of appearance, please welcome these amazing ladies.
Kim, or Kimbo, of A Girl and a Glue Gun is a long time friend of Project Run & Play! She was a designer way back in Season 5. Since then she's gone on to create many amazing things with her glue gun, and build a crafting empire in the process! I love following her on Instagram for colorful, happy, creative inspiration with some vinyl pressed on top!
Next up we have Beth from Sew DIY, a true master of sewing and style. She designs sewing patterns, shares tutorials, and curates an enviable closet! If you're looking to graduate from sewing children's clothing onto sewing something for yourself, her pattern shop is the perfect place to start.
Cindy Cloward is the owner and brain behind Riley Blake Designs a fabric company that offers something for everyone. Many seamstresses won't use any other knit fabric after they find Riley Blake Designs knit fabric! We're proud to say that there are several past Project Run & Play designers who now design fabric for Riley Blake Designs, including our very dear liZ and Elizabeth!
Ericka and Jessica co-own Violette Field Threads, one of the premier children's sewing pattern companies. Many of us found the Indie sewing community through Violette Field Threads. Classic yet charming patterns that let girls be girls, these patterns offer something for everyone (tweens and women too!) Ericka and Jessica have also been long time supporters of Project Run & Play, and you really should go check them out!
The judging format is as follows:
1/3 score = celebrity guest judge of the week
1/3 score = public voting
1/3 score = panel of past Project Run & Play designers shown below
This scenario casts light on the quality of the designer's work rather than their popularity. This format has ensured a positive experience for everyone in the past few Seasons, and the prizes awarded fairly on merit, rather than size of following.
Delia comes to us from Delia Creates where she blogs sewing and more in the most beautiful DIY photos you can imagine. She was a designer on Season 5, and really showed everyone how it ought to be done!
Courtney comes to us from Sweeter Than Cupcakes where she sews for her two cute daughters. She was a designer on Season 11, and wowed everyone with her looks.
Heidi comes to us from Elegance & Elephants where she designs patterns and sews for her son and daughter. She was a designer on Season 5, and earned the respect of the sewing community with her sewing expertise.
It's such an honor to have these talented ladies giving their time and effort on the behalf of Project Run & Play. Please thank them by following them on social media, and reading and commenting on their blogs!
