Liesel for Project Lounge Library

Next up on the Project Lounge Library tour is Liesel of It's Liesel!  As usual, Liesel produced stunning creations for the lookbook.

See what we mean???  Here's what Liesel had to say about the patterns she sewed and her inspiration:

I wasn't a huge book-lover as a kid, and I'm still not as an adult. I prefer experiencing stories as they're lived out in real life, through watching and talking to people. But it wasn't hard to think of a book, when the Lounge Library theme was sent to me, the first one that came to mind was instantly, Ferdinand. This was one of my favorites as a kid, and I've loved sharing it with my kids too. I don't know what I love more, the story, or the graphic elements. There weren't any colors I could use, except red, black, and white. The other nods to the inspiration I drew from the book come in the form of the dramatic puff sleeves on the red dress, the floral print of the shorts, and the lace detail on the top. I don't have a bullring to photograph, so a dusty baseball diamond that the kids throw balls at was my closest choice.

I love a good sleeve detail, and the Story Dress features that, along with a good design on the rest of the shirt or dress. Not over-worked, or over-designed. Simply comfortable, but not a bit boring. My daughter has chosen to wear it several times since it's been finished! And, I'm not sure these Nini Noni Nightwear pieces will ever be worn as nightwear. They're great as separates for day time too! My daughter wore the black top for her co-op's performance for their fall semester. I can't wait to sew up more pieces from the Lounge Library collection, and I'm excited to share my small contribution with you!

Head over to It's Liesel for tons of goodness (and she's giving away a pattern from the collection too!!!)

Come back tomorrow when Delia from Delia Creates shares what she sewed from this pattern collection!
