Project Run and Play: Project Smooth Sorbet with Julia: David Rain Jacket

We're so excited about today's sneak peek because there is NO OTHER pattern like it in the Project Run & Play shop! Here's Julia to tell you more:

Hi, I’m Julia and I run a small sewing business called Bobbins and Buttons in the UK.

I have loved sewing since I was a young child so I feel very lucky to have been able to turn my passion into a business. I design patterns for all the family I also sell fabrics suitable to make them in.

My children are my inspiration for all the children’s sewing patterns that I design. I like to design versatile and practical styles that will get worn a lot!

The David raincoat was a style I designed for my season in the Project Run and Play competition in 2019. The raincoats I made for the competition instantly became my kids favourite coats and they still wear them regularly even during the cooler months when a warmer coat would be more suitable! Having had a year and a half of regular wear I felt the style was well tried and tested and definitely worthy of a place in the pattern range.

When looking for fabrics I found the fruit themed laminated cotton which fitted perfectly for the project smooth sorbet collection. I love spending time in the kitchen with my kids creating culinary treats. When the weather warms up we are going to try making our own fruity sorbet!

And yes, there will be a stunning lookbook (launching on May 31st) so you can see the patterns modeled and get inspired to sew yourself!
