Our final destination on the Project Under the Sea tour is here! Lindsay of PACountryCrafts used Mily Mae fabrics to sew land and sea looks for five aspiring mermaids!
I am surprised that my little sisters didn't wear holes in our VHS tape of The Little Mermaid (youngsters Google VHS) so I knew that I wanted this to be a photoshoot that involved their daughters too! I did my research and saw the new movie. Our "land" outfits mirror the aesthetic of those costumes pretty well in pastel hues with flowy ruffles and puff sleeves.
First up we have a, "Aquata" long sleeve Lagoon Top made in this super soft waffle knit fabric from Mily Mae fabrics! This is such a cute, casual look with the Seaside Shorts made in stretch denim and the pink tulle "belt" ties in theme.
My daughter doesn't like dresses much, but she LOVES this Lagoon in super soft Mily Mae light turquoise solid brushed poly with the "Adella" twirly fishtail skirt!
For a different Lagoon combination- my niece got an "Alana" elbow length sleeve top in Mily Mae lavender solid brushed poly and an "Arista" tulle overlay skirt with an added layer of lace on top.
This girl has been getting so many new clothes lately that her closet is overflowing. So she is rewearing her net "Andrina" Lagoon skirt with this Reef Top using Mily Mae Fluffy in Seafoam.
This cutie pie got an "Attina" short sleeve Lagoon top in Mily Mae's new knit swiss dot. It is paired with a Seafoam Skirt using layers of lace and tulle. She just loved twirling around!
Ah ah Ah ah Ah ah Ah ah ah ah ah Ah ah Ah ah Ah ahhhhhh...
Lagoon Ariel tails for everyone!
This sparkly reef top is actually a knit fabric but it worked! I just didn't have to hem the flounce! Her tail is made of Mily Mae Mangrove Green Kira and we added some glitter spray to the fins and bottom of the tail.
I sewed my first swimwear!!! The Pike cropped top with ruffle was not nearly as scary as I thought sewing swim would be! It looks so cute with her tail- all made of Mily Mae Kira Midnight.
This girl got a Fizzy Fusion Kira tail and it is such a fun color! (At this point I learned that multiple layers of tulle is super cute!) I found a satin top in my sewing room that I upcycled into a Reef top!
I had another first- my first separating zipper! The Morgana Zip-Up is so clear in the instruction and made it really simple! I also added glitter iron on with the Project Under the Sea digital designs! Mermaid Off Duty on the back (great minds think alike, Jenny and Audrey!) and an extra mermaid tail silhouette on the shoulder.
Finally we have a Kira Bright Fuchsia tail with bright pink and aqua tulle layers on the tail. The top is a Caliandra with tulle for the flounces and a peplum instead of the full skirt. A white circle is appliqued to the center with some Armeria embroidery.
Thank you to Mily Mae Fabrics for the gorgeous fabrics to make these mermaid dreams come true! Come on over to my blog (HERE) to see more pictures and get more detail on all of these fun outfits!
