Today we have some more adorable Back to School looks by Lindsay of PACountryCrafts!
My nieces are getting ready for back to school so I wanted to sew something special for them with Boho Fabrics. We did a little photo shoot at the one room schoolhouse where their great-great-grandfather attended.
For my older niece I sewed a Lagoon dress with the short puff sleeves and high low fishtail skirt. I have never sewn with cupro fabric and didn't really know what it was so I added it to my cart on a whim! It did NOT disappoint! This fabric is silky smooth with a perfect drape for this dress! For an extra layering piece, I sewed a Blank Canvas Cardigan. I had to omit the hem band because I ran out of fabric (I have more projects to show later!) but it is so soft and cozy in this brushed sweater knit fabric.
My youngest niece got a Lavender dress with long sleeves. This Bachelor Button Woven Prada Twill fabric will be lovely for cooler fall days and the best part is that it never wrinkles! I sewed the lace to the bodice instead of creating an inset because it was too narrow but it gives the same effect. For the skirt, I lowered the lace inset for my personal preference.
I also sewed a pair of Elodie shorts underneath for a little extra coverage while roughhousing on the playground. The navy cotton spandex knit worked perfectly!
