Hello everybody. I'm Cheri from I Am Momma Hear Me Roar. I have two little guys and I love making and embellishing clothing for them.

Rather than share just one small tutorial with you today, I thought it would be fun to show a few different ideas and techniques. So, I bribed kindly asked my son to put on a bunch of things I've made him and do a little runway walking for me :) Here he is. I'll give you a rundown on what he's sporting. Some of the items were sewn and some were store bought and then embellished.

Let's start at the top. His hat is my upcycled from old t-shirts. You can find the full details HERE.

The Hurley-inspired tee was made with a bleach pen and embroidery floss. You can find the full details HERE.

The jacket was store bought, and then embellished with a vintage name patch I bought. I love it. I makes me laugh when he wears it. You can see more clothing I added patches to HERE.

The cuff was made from an old belt with fabric and bits of leather sewn onto it. You can find more details about that HERE.

I made the pants and tried my hand at some fun, trendy back pockets. You can find out more about them HERE.

Lastly, the shoes were bought and then I used heat press vinyl to make them into superhero shoes. You can see the full project HERE.

It makes me really happy to see my boys wearing things I've made. I think it's so much more fun than buying something. I can't wait to see the boy round here! I think boys are just as fun to sew and craft for as girls. You just have to think a little harder.

Thanks for having me! Good luck to all the contestants! The projects have been amazing and so fun to watch.

  1. Hi Cheri, I have to say how well this entire outfit goes together. Sometime handmade looks handmade but nothing here does. It looks as though it could all have been purchased from some designer kids shop. Well done.
