{Meet The Designers} Jessica from Sweetie Pie Bakery

Hello!  I'm Jessi from Sweetie Pie Bakery, and I'm so excited to participate in this round of Project Run and Play!

I've been a huge fan and loved seeing the different themes and creativity that each season would bring and can't wait to share my own projects with you!

I grew up around a mother and grandmother who sewed, so it was always a part of my life.  I didn't begin really sewing myself until I had my first child.  No longer working and having much more time at home, I felt a sort of lull that I needed to fill.  I dug out my sewing machine and got reacquainted with it.

It didn't take long before I decided that I was not just going to follow patterns, but begin designing my own.  As a former interior designer working with drafting all day, I figured that sewing would be a great platform to translate one skill to another.  That's how my first line of felt patterns was born.  I looked at each piece as a sort of miniature architecture project.

After becoming acquainted with so many sewing blogs, I decided I wanted to take it up a notch, and learn to sew more garments.  I love being able to create things that my family and I can wear.  There is nothing like designing something, creating it yourself, and then wearing it.

I'm very eager for this season to start and look forward to stretching my creativity and skills to share unique ideas with you every week!
