{Meet the Judges} The Sew Along Judges

Today you get to meet our "Sew Along"judges who have kindly agreed to share a little bit about themselves.  We're sure you'll see why we think they are such super ladies and why we are so happy to have them sharing their expertise with our "Sew Along".

As for the "Sew Along"....if you don't know what it is you can read all about it HERE.  Not only is it something new here at Project Run and Play but it involves you and some great prizes!  We are really excited about it and hope that you will all play sew along with us!
 Now onto the judges!

Hi everyone! I am Jessica from Me Sew Crazy. Wife to an incredible husband, and Momma to 3 young active and crazy kids, I consider myself to be an artist of many mediums. I love to paint, draw, or sketch when I have lots of quiet time (which is never lately - lol), I love to sing music that lifts my Spirit, and I am trying to learn photography...but mostly, I love to sew. Sewing is something I do on an almost daily basis that brings joy to my soul. Being a stay at home Mom is a blessing, and I relish spending so much quality time with my children every day. They are my biggest inspirations in the littlest packages.

Hello everyone!  My name is Alida and I write on a little blog called I Make Stuff.  I have only been sewing for about 3 years but once I started it was impossible to stop!  It all started when my mother-in-law helped me sew a Halloween costume for my daughter.  I was hooked from the very first stitch.  She saw how much I loved it so she gave me her old sewing machine.  The rest is history!  I love to sew all kinds of things, but my passion is children's clothing.  I have four adorable children and a hubby in medical school, so to say I'm busy is kind of an understatement!  Having four children in 7 years has made me, well, the teeniest bit crazy.  But that's all part of the fun, right?

Hey there! I'm Micalah, the founder of Project Run &Play and also Out of Eden, where I have blogged about personal life and projects on and off over the last couple of years. I have two kiddos, Eden and Levi, and they rock my world. :) My husband Brian and I have a dream of owning our own coffee shop and bakery someday, but in the meantime, he is super supportive of all my crafty-ness. I love sewing and painting, and am convinced that it is what keeps me from losing my mind as a stay-at-home mom. I started sewing shortly after my daughter was born- my first project ever was a twin size quilt for her first birthday. I had no idea what an undertaking that was (I had never made anything before!), but lucky for me, I have an awesome mother-in-law who encourages me in sewing. I live vicariously through my kiddo's styles- I love making them clothing with fun mismatched prints, and punky styles.

And here is Jessica's advice for the designers.....
This is probably going to be the one thing I can't stress enough, and also the one thing that will be near impossible to do...try to relax and enjoy the ride!  When I was a part of the competition, I would work on each outfit piece until I thought I had it just right, and then I would see all of the other designers, and totally freak out - being sure I was going to be sent home that week!  I would check, and recheck the voting all weekend long...and come Monday, I would bite all my nails off until I saw the outcome.  After speaking with the other designers, it turned out I was not alone!  So inevitably, I am tell you to 'do as I say, not as I did'...lol.  It is hard work - the planning, creating, and photographing of each outfit, but once you have submitted your look you need to Let. It. Go.  Realize that it is out of your hands and just try to sit back and enjoy!

Are you all getting as excited as we are? And tomorrow.....the DESIGNERS!

Seems to me we sit all in the same boat - moms with lots of kids who love sewing ;-)

If you ever come around to my corner of the world, PLEASE call me so we can drink a cup of coffee together (while a bunch of kids runs arounds us).
