Tutorial Days: Skirts

Today let's focus on some tutorials to make some simple skirts.  I. love. to. sew. skirts.  They are fun and (most of the time) a quick project...which is great for mom sewers.

Here are a few tutorials that I love.....

and we could go on and on....

(I was on the computer way.too.long looking at all the skirt loveliness on Pinterest last night)

So now you tell us, what are some of your favorite skirt tutorials?

  2. Of course, the Simple Simon's Vintagely Modern Skirt. I made three already and was thinking last night of making a few more but putting in elastic in the waist instead of a button closure because it gapes a little when my rounded tummy daughter wears it. A great tutorial!

  3. I love Dana's circle skirt too. And Prudent Baby's layer cake skirt. And Lil Blue Boo's cascading ruffle skirt. And No Big Dill's faux placket skirt. And of course your starboard skirt. So many skirts, so little time!

  4. I am seriously thinking about trying this pattern even though I don't understand a word of it. It's in Dutch... But the skirt is LOVELY! http://madamezsazsa.blogspot.com/2010/03/het-patroonloze-plooirokje.html I'm hoping that Google Translate can help me out. If anyone knows what "plooirokskespatroon" means, please let me know...

Also, I like this one, the shirt-skirt: http://fashionindie.com/diy-the-shirt-skirt/

  5. Dana's circle skirt (I've made about 5 or so in the last 6 months), why yes, I am totally addicted. And this layer cake skirt: http://icandyhandmade.blogspot.com/2012/01/tutorial-layer-cake-skirt.html#more by icandy. It is so comfy. Anything that's upcycle is great too.

  6. Lazy Days by Oliver + S. So simple but always cute! I love to play with different trims. It is wonderful to make something so cute and practical during naptime, with time left over. :)

  7. I have a not secret crush on circle skirts- I've made at least ten. I also really like Dana's can-can skirt and the rainbow skirt you featured.
