Skirting the Issue: Tiffany Create Kids Couture

We are Shannon and Tiffany from Create Kids Couture and we are SO SO SO excited to be here as part of the Skirting the Issue series this month. Can you sense our enthusiasm? We have always been fans of Project Run & Play and being able to participate in even a small way for this giant cause tickles us pink!

The tutorial we created for PR&P is Scarlet's Shirred Skirt with a Lace Embellishment. At just 4 steps, this may be the fastest and easiest skirt you'll ever make, which is perfect for helping Project Run & Play reach their goal of 100 skirts donated by August 10th. We were sure include measurements for sizes 6-12 months up to a size 16 girls so we can help out the older kids too!

If you're not familiar with shirring, no worries, don't get scarred away! It's super simple and you can learn a new technique while helping a good cause. We include great directions on how to shirr including links to free video tutorials to help ease the process. We'll have you shirring in no time and wondering why you never tried sooner!

Also, be sure to check out all our other free tutorials at Create Kids Couture. We have quite a few skirt patterns that are a breeze to whip up and true to the boutique-style we love so much including  Paisley's Patchwork Skirt pictured above.

Huge thank you to Liz and Elizabeth of PR&P for letting us join in on all the fun. We encourage you to whip up one of these easy skirts and donate it to the good cause these ladies are promoting. Not only will it make you feel good about yourself, but imagine the smile on the face of the little girl who opens up YOUR skirt!

Happy Sewing!
Shannon and Tiffany
