Meet the Designers--Irene from Froo & Boo

Hi Project Run & Play friends! My name is Irene and I blog at Froo & Boo--names that refer to my 5 year old daughter and 2 year old son. I am Korean Canadian (sometimes referred to as Canadian-born Korean), the hubs is Canadian-born Chinese and our kids are, well, 100% Canadian. Although, currently, we are an expatriate family living in the US!

After a long absence from sewing, I started sewing stuffies while pregnant with my daughter. I was instantly hooked and became obsessed with all things sewing. I dreamed of having a handmade business, sewing bunnies all day long and designing children's clothing. But my dreams felt intangible as life sped forward--I was busy working as a high school Business Education teacher and life was full of new challenges as a working mom.

In 2012, my family moved from Vancouver, Canada to the San Francisco bay area for the hubs' work. My life slowed down considerably and I was able to enjoy sewing again. I decided to start a blog out of curiosity--I had no idea what to expect! What I know for certain is that I treasure the experience of designing, creating, writing, photographing and joining the online sewing community. I remember the moment when I first discovered Project Run & Play--I was excited to find people who got just as excited about fabric, design and all the pretty little details. It's nice to occupy a cozy speck on the Internet, where the sweetest people stop by and leave warm fuzzy comments.

I've learned oodles and continue to on my journey to chasing my dreams. And yes, I firmly believe in following your dreams. I never thought I would be living in the bay area, with 2 beautiful children, a supportive hubs, blogging my happy creations and sewing my heart out for season 8 of Project Run & Play!
