Meet the Designer: Bethany from I Married Superman

You guys! It's still hard for me to believe that I get to participate in Project Run & Play! I'm pinching myself (not literally you understand, because obvs that would hurt.) It's just that I sort of feel like that one friend your Mom made you invite to the party, but regardless of whatever miracle got me here, you better believe I am so tickled about it! :)

So let's get right to this meet and greet! My name is Bethany and I blog over at imarriedsuperman.com I live deep in Idaho country with my own personal Superman and our 6 kids. My husband, Jonathon and I had 6 kids in 6 years, so life for us is all kinds of crazy, but it's a happy chaos that I wouldn't trade for all the full nights of sleep in the world. If I'm going to be completely honest, I don't blog as often as I'd like to because well, life. My blog isn't a business because life is a whirlwind, so for now, it's just a fun little outlet. I'm a major introvert, so I'm thankful for things like social media that have enabled me to connect and rub "virtual shoulders" with so many awesome people!

I've been sewing since my mom taught me how to make beanbags when I was a little girl. I went to sewing camp (#nerd) and took sewing lessons from a sweet neighbor until I hit my rebellious teenage years and I was like "Sew my own clothes? Ew." (I still secretly drew and designed outfits in my spare time in high school, but you better not tell the cool kids at my lunch table ;) My love for sewing was rekindled when my oldest daughter was born and I finished college. And I've spent the last few years trying to re-teach myself all the stuff that my previous 15-year-old-self tried so hard to squelch. I do have lots of other interests besides sewing. I am a jack of all trades, master of none kinda gal. I just wanna do all the things! Creating brings a powerful sense of satisfaction to me, even if it's just making a fun space for my kids to play in. All sewing and DIY aside, I will l say the things that bring me the most joy are my family, faith, and as long as we're doing alliterations here, I'm gonna go with food too. ;) Those things keep me happy no matter what. So excited to be here and I can't wait to see what all these rockstar competitors bring to the cutting table! :)

  1. I loved reading this little bio! Your writing voice makes me feel like we could totally be pals. I dread the day my girls decide handmade is not cool... I may die that day. I can't wait to see what you come up with for the themes.

  2. I think you are amazing! And that you're seeing with all those sweet little "helpers" running around...that is a major accomplishment! ❤
