Meet the Designer: Elizabeth from The College Seamstress

Hello! My name is Elizabeth and I blog at The College Seamstress. I am SO excited and honored to be here as a designer on Project Run and Play! I have been following Project Run and Play for a long time and never thought I would be part of it!

I don’t have any kids of my own but I have eight younger siblings – six brothers and two sisters. I sew mostly for myself and my sisters but recently I have been sewing more for my brothers.

I was introduced to sewing when I was eleven years old through a 4-H quilting group. I learned to quilt and I would enter a quilt in the county fair every summer. A few years later I discovered apparel sewing and started making my own clothes to enter in the fair. Since then, I haven’t looked back! I love that I can take a flat piece of fabric and create it into something I can wear!
My mom gave me her sewing machine for high school graduation and I took it to college with me. I started my blog when I was in college as a way to document my sewing projects. I still blog in my spare time and I share most of my projects on Instagram too!

I try to find time to sew every day, but if I’m not sewing, I enjoy running and playing the violin. I'm also a nurse and I work the night shift at a small hospital.

I'm so excited to see what this season brings and I can't wait to share my designs with you!
