Project Run and Play: Pantone Party: Skirt Fixation X Art Gallery Fabrics

Audrey of Skirt Fixation and Art Gallery Fabrics are here today with inspiration for making Viva Magenta work all year long!

For this year's Pantone Party, we drew inspiration from 2 different areas. The 1st is the color Viva Magenta which is seen by some people as closer to a red shade and by some as closer to a pink shade! When we saw all the pink, red, and Viva Magenta fabrics at Art Gallery Fabrics, we simply had to make a look for each season of the year, and that became the 2nd inspiration for us! For our spring look, I drafted an ombre ruffle skirt that flows from pink to red down the ruffles. (Want to know a secret? This pattern is in development for a future pattern collection!!!) We used 5 shades of pink and red knit fabric from Art Gallery Fabrics: Crystal Pink, Blush, Sweet Pink, Hot Pink, and True Red.

Paired with this epic skirt is an Overlook Woven Raglan Top made using Happily Ever After Seven cotton fabric. Do you see where we added Viva Magenta piping to accentuate the shoulder seams? And we also used the Hot Pink for a knit neckband.

For our summer look, we turned to the Robin Dress pattern. We combined this luscious Madison Avenue Blaze rayon fabric and used Cactus Flower cotton for the fun pop of pink on the ruffle! And of course we just HAD style it with a Frutta Purse in Cross & Stitch Raspberry cotton for the photoshoot!

Next comes fall and back to school time! We made a Blank Canvas Cardigan from Hot Pink knit fabric and Trailblazing Socks from Sweet Pink knit fabric. That fun dress is a combination of the Parfait Polo and the Multi-Hue Henley, which are mix and match patterns!

We used the collar and puff sleeves from the Parfait Polo and the skater dress from the Multi-Hue Henley pattern! The sweet fabric is Blooms Field Fresh knit fabric.

And finally our winter look! Winter is time to snuggle up in some cozy pajamas, so we grabbed the Sweet Dreams Pajama Pants pattern and some Khokhloma One super soft flannel fabric. We also sewed a Touka Sweater using Sweet Pink and True Red knit fabrics.

And of course we had to make a Still Sleeping Eye Mask from Khokhloma One super soft flannel fabric. (The pattern is FREE!) And now it's time for a good long nap after all that sewing!
