Today Audrey is back sharing a 2nd look she sewed from the Project Under the Sea pattern collection. She used fabric from CaliFabrics to create this ballet core themed look.
Three of my kids got to play for this 2nd photoshoot! Once you have patterns already printed and you have a vision, it's hard to stop sewing Project Under the Sea! I've been dying to create a ballet core themed set of outfits since I found out ballet core is a thing...and Project Under the Sea help me bring that vision to life.
To start with, we sewed up 2 Lagoon dresses and a Lagoon skirt! This is the short sleeve with the fishtail hem version.
The final Lagoon is a tulle overlay skirt. Underneath is a Pike Swimsuit. The pink tulle and the butterfly swim and pink solid swim fabrics are from CaliFabrics.
She also got a Seafoam Skirt in beautiful double brushed poly butterfly fabric! It's paired with a cropped Morgana Zip Up in tie-dye french terry of the softest hand!! Both these amazing fabrics are from CaliFabrics.
We also used that fun pink bubbles batik to sew a Seashell Satchel! We added a tulle ruffle around the top, because tulle=ballet, right?
And finally, I used Abby's Trailblazing Socks pattern to sew her a pair of leg warmers. (Just cut off the toe part!) Because how can you mimic ballet core without leg warmers?
Next up we had to get the boys involved! Little brother got a Morgana Zip Up in the SOFTEST sweater knit fabric you can imagine. So I probably don't even need to mention that it's from CaliFabrics because that's where ALL the nice fabrics come from, right? It's holding true to our sub-theme of tie-dye that we seemed to have going on. He's also wearing a pair of Zealand Zip Off pants in khaki maxima poplin from CaliFabrics.
He also got a new Explorer Raglan made from rust cotton jersey and one of the Sea Creatures Mixed Panel from the Project Under the Sea fabric collection. Every time he reads the front of this panel, he cracks up laughing for about 5 minutes!
And since I just can't seem to stop sewing Explorer Raglans, I whipped up another one for him using Sandbar Stripes in Sand and rust cotton jersey. They're paired with the Zealand Zip Off pants. He only let me zip of ONE of the bottoms legs during the photoshoot! Whatever 😂
And finally (no, really!) Big Brother got an Explorer Raglan in Sandbar Stripes in Sand. He's very pleased with his new shirt. And he's holding a crab from the Ocean Friends Bundle 2.
And since you were dying to know, NO I did not do the handsewing on the Armeria embroidery either! It was again my very talented teenage daughter! (Just like last time. See why here)
