Project Art Studio with Sarah from Waves & Wild

Albert Namatjra was an Indiginous Australian artist who painted in a Western style and his landscapes capture Australia in a way no artist of European descent ever could.

I was inspired by his stunning use of colour and love for country. I used the Sundowner pattern as my blank canvas, kept things simple and let those beautiful colours sing.

Headed into the weekend with Sarah's incredible look! See more of the details and inspiration on her blog!

Project Art Studio with Whitney of SewWhit Designs

Claude Monet has always been among my favorite artists of all time. I love the look of impressionism and watercolor. I love the colors Monet used Blues, Greens, Purples, and Pinks. When I was looking for inspiration for my Project Art Studio Shoot, I naturally gravitated toward his style. I call this collection Impression.

“Impression — I was certain of it. I was just telling myself that, since I was impressed, there had to be some impression in it … and what freedom, what ease of workmanship!" -Claude Monet

Project Art Studio with Susana of Suco by Susana

Susana is up Next with this darling look for her daughter. Here is what Susana had to say...

When I first think of art, I see my girl surrounded by her art supplies and painting on canvas and notebooks. She loves paint brushes, oil pastels, acrylic paint, pencils, and pens, and browsing around a good art supplies store.

The first pattern that I sewed from the collection was the Multi-Hue henley in the skater dress version. She'd been asking me for a twirly skirt for a long time and this dress comes with a circle skirt, so she loved it.

I also sewed the most perfect oversized cardigan, the Blank Canvas cardigan. I made the hip length, and it is seriously perfect with that relaxed feel, dropped shoulders and big pockets. I'm going to make more of these for sure.

Then I sewed a cropped Easel Tee and the Rocky Shore Tights. This is the perfect outfit for my daughter's dance lessons and she didn't take the tee off after the photos.

Come see more photos in my blog at Suco by Susana.

Project Art Studio with Liesel of It's Liesel

Next up is Liesel with this darling trio! Here is what Liesel had to say about her art inspiration...

Pablo Picasso said, "All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.I have always been fascinated by how children see the world. I wonder how they will do things before they've been told how "to" do something. I wonder how far their creativity will take them before the world shows them which box to fit in. When I had to pick an art inspiration for Project Art Studio, I couldn't choose anything other than my kids, and their affinity to create art...mixed with a little inspiration from a famous painter! The Budding Artist is the theme of my looks, and you can see all of them on my blog!
