Meet the Designers: Maryanne and Caroline from Sew Together

We're Maryanne and Caroline from Sew Together.

We have admired Project Run and Play from afar for the last two seasons and are unbelievably excited to be part of this one!

We are sisters who love to sew. We live in Sydney, Australia and have five children under the age of six between us. While we've always been crafty (our mother patchworks so much that our father refers to himself as a patchwork widow!) it was the arrival of our children that really inspired us. It's kind of ironic really - the children that inspire us to sew take up so much of our time that we don't have enough time to create for them as much as we'd like!

Last year we started sewing classes for the complete beginner - we love teaching people how to make clothes and accessories for their kids and themselves. More importantly, we love inspiring them and welcoming them into the crafting community.

Even though we're sisters we sew completely differently. Maryanne is the ultimate perfectionist (in a good way!). She loves maths and numbers and is happy to spend days creating a beautiful patchwork block. Caroline, on the other hand is a big picture sewer who is happy to start with a yard of fabric and a pair of scissors and see where it takes her. Whether or not we'll still like each other as much as we do now by the end of the competition remains to be seen, but we've got our fingers crossed.

We'd like to thank Simple Simon and Company for their commitment to Project Run and Play and are excited to be participating with such an amazing group of bloggers.
