I grew up watching my grandmother create. Any memories I have of her involve her making things and I remember sitting and watching. Not to mention loving the teeny Barbie clothes and handmade dresses. I contribute a lot of my passion for sewing to days spent with her.
I sewed on and off growing up and prior to having my boys. However while pregnant with Mae I took a quilting class where I learned to create quilt blocks and was drawn to the puzzle aspect of sewing. More designing, than following a pattern. It was this part of sewing with which I fell in love.
Over the last years I have concentrated on creating boy clothes, pushing myself to learn new skills. I am thrilled to be part of Project Run & Play this season. To step outside of my comfort zone and be inspired by the pr&p community.
I just love your pictures Jacq! I can't wait to see what you have in store this season! :D
ReplyDeleteDropped by your blog to check out your cute kids.. and they are adorable boys! Can't wait to see what you post and am looking forward to it!!
ReplyDeleteYour post really touched my heart, as I hope I am inspiring my granddaughter to sew someday. The oldest is 7 years old, and I bought her a sewing machine that sits right next to mine in my sewing room. She seems interested in the process, and the end results of sewing... so I'm hoping to be her mentor.... and remember me the way you remember your grandmother.
