Meet the Designers--Jenn from A Jennuine Life

My name is Jenn and most days you can read about my creative adventures on my blog at A Jennuine Life.  I live in Michigan with my physicist husband Dave and we have two little girls, Arden (four) and Hadley (two).
I can hardly express in words how honored and excited I am to be participating in this season of Project Run & Play.  I've been following along since the very beginning and have discovered new fabulous and inspirational sewists to follow with every round of competition.  I've sewed along with challenges where I was able, and have tried out for spots when they were open.  So I'm sure you can imagine my happy dance when I received the e-mail telling me I was going to be a contestant!  This community of Project Run & Play is the perfect combination of creative challenge, support, and camaraderie.  I love, love, love it and all the people involved!
I work part time as an accountant, and I enjoy combining the creative and analytic sides of my personality at my cutting table and sewing machine while my girls are sleeping.  My version of an epic Friday night is drafting patterns and sewing in my studio while hubby Dave watches TV in the next room and describes The Walking Dead to me so I don't have to watch the scary bits!  I've been sewing since I was a little girl, even creating doll clothes on my Grandma's treadle foot Singer before I moved on to motorized versions.  I became more serious about garment sewing when I found sewing blogs while Arden was a baby.  I discovered the rush of drafting or modifying patterns as I gained experience and tried new techniques.
I can't wait to show you what I've been working on for the challenges, and to see what the other competitors and sew along crew have made!

  7. We love the walking dead, but I'll admit, I'm usually blogging on my laptop so I don't have to watch the gross parts! I did the happy dance too! :) And I love altering patterns once I figure it out! I get giddy!!! Fun to learn more about you!

    1. I get all tense and have to look away, so it's better if I'm in the next room! We watched World War Z last week and I literally started to get nauseous! Fast zombies are Even worse! Even Brad Pitt isn't worth that much stress!

  8. You all have such amazing work. I can't even sew a button on something. I get all excited with the kitchen appliances and leave the sewing to my mom but your outfits are fabulous.
