Meet The Designer: Wendy of W Pratt Crafts

Hello, hello! I’m Wendy, the W of W Pratt Crafts. I am so very excited to be here and participating in this season of Project Run and Play! Ever since I began following this competition, I have been so inspired and motivated to continue pushing my own personal sewing and skills and I’m honored that I was chosen from the at-home entries to participate. I hope to return the favor and inspire and motivate others as well! Originally from the PNW, I was swept off my feet by a man in uniform, and he continued carrying me right out the door and off to our own adventures of moving around the country and starting our family. Our Air Force life may not be one of the more typical military experiences, but I am so thankful for all the opportunities it has given us. Currently I am a SAHM of three kiddos, ages 8, 7, and 3, but in a previous life I was a pediatric RN. Now, sewing and crafting helps keep my days sane and my kids clothed. They enjoy getting to help pick and choose their looks. Plus, it makes this mama’s heart happy to see them pick a handmade piece over anything else in their closet. I began to learn how to sew when I was a kid, watching my mom, aunt, and grandma making all kinds of garments and crafts. Once I began staying home, my occasional sewing became almost daily sewing. I also like to do embroidery, DIY home projects, and crochet – though I landed myself in physical therapy after too much crocheting, but that’s a story for another day. I don’t think I can truly share with you in words the full range of emotions I’m feeling about getting to participate in Project Run and Play, so I hope my garments will help me convey my excitement and appreciation at being a designer this season. To get some sneak peeks and behind the scenes looks at what is going into this process, you can check out my Blog, Instagram, and Facebook page for all the details. Thanks for being here and I can’t wait to get this season started! See you soon!
