Meet the Designer: Anita of DIY with Manneken

"A person with a new idea is a crank until the idea succeeds" - Mark Twain.

This is a phrase that has been with me since the day I decided to create my first sewing kits. Since then I keep coming up with crazy ideas that I want to fulfil.

I’m Anita Thadani, fashion designer and pattern drafter. Of Indian origin, born in Valencia, almost Murcian and a little Catalan.

Torment of ideas and contrasts. Mother of two little crazy girls, who, together with my chief cyclist, make me see life in a bright colour.

My family is my base camp, my mix of contrasts, which has led me to develop a minimalist and functional style.

I first started sewing and designing when I was a teenager, but left it after a while. After I moved to Barcelona, I bought my first own sewing machine and started sewing again. I started altering my clothes, and then sewing for my first baby girl, and did not stop. Sewing calms me down and makes my happy and proud.

My blog, DIY with Manneken, comes from my interest in Fashion, Design and Pattern Making.

Here I share and will continue to share everything I know about this world and what I learn along the way.

Can't wait for all of you to see my designs for Project Run & Play!

Welcome to Diy with Manneken.
