15+ Ideas for Kids Pajamas + Pattern and Fabric pairings

Hi, it's Audrey here today, and I'm sharing over 15 different pajamas I sewed for my kids of all ages this year!  This should give you some ideas for combining different patterns and fabric for pajamas, no matter what your child prefers to wear for sleeping!

Sleep Tight Nightgown from Project Run & Play

This Sleep Tight Nightgown is super in textured cotton jersey knit from CaliFabrics.

Project Run & Play robe pattern

This All Wrapped Up Robe is quilted double gauze, and it's the PERFECT warm layer over the lighter weight Sleep Tight Tee pictured above.  The quilted double gauze fabric is from Minerva.

The hip length version of the All Wrapped Up Robe works perfectly over the Sleep Tight Nightgown too!  This one is made from soft waffle knit from CaliFabrics.

Sleep Tight Tee from Project Run & Play

This guy is wearing a super cozy set from the Pajama Party pattern collection!

On top he is wearing a Sleep Tight Tee made from french terry.  This is one of the Mixed Panel Designs 2 on white speckled background.  Do you see how I used the "Original" panel on the sleeve and the rest of the shirt from speckles on white background french terry fabric?

On bottom he is wearing the Sweet Dreams Pajama Pants pattern.  This is the hemmed version, at his request.  I used another of the  Mixed Panel Designs 2 on white speckled background on one of the legs!  He loves his cozy new french terry pajama set.

Big sister has a new pajama set too!  She is wearing a short sleeve version of the Sleep Tight Tee made from cloud-soft french terry from CaliFabrics.  She is just off the size charts for Project Run & Play patterns, but this french terry is so soft and stretchy, I knew it would work.

Her coordinating bottoms are the Sweet Dreams Pajama Pants pattern in the cuffed pants version.  You can almost see how soft that french terry from CaliFabrics is, but the real pleasure must be wearing it!

All Wrapped Up Robe pattern from Project Run & Play

Here is an All Wrapped Up Robe in Seersucker from CaliFabrics.  This one is the long version of the All Wrapped Up Robe, and is a perfect match to her warm and cozy pajamas.  She didn't need warmth from the robe, so this one will extend into spring and summer wear.

Next up we have a Noel Top turned pajamas!  To make the Noel pattern more pajama like, I moved the button placket to the front, and made the back solid.

On bottom she is wearing the Sweet Dreams Pajama Pants pattern with contrast cuffs.  This whole set is made from Art Gallery Fabrics Crafting Magic flannel fabric and Crafting Magic rayon for the contrast sleeves and cuff.

Urban Jungle Doll

And don't forget the stuffed animals!  We have the Fox from the Urban Jungle Dolls 1 in a matching jammie set from the Art Gallery Fabrics Crafting Magic flannel fabric and Crafting Magic rayon.  Both these patterns are included in the Urban Doll clothing bundle.

Next we have a super cozy set, made from quilted sweater knit fabric (from my stash.)  On top she is wearing a Sundowner Sweatshirt pattern and these are paired with 4 Seasons Joggers on the bottom.  We used pink piping on the accent lines, and it takes it up a notch for sure!

And finally, littlest brother got new pajamas too!  On top he is wearing a Sleep Tight Tee made from cotton lycra fabric.  We added little ears to the shoulders, just for fun as he was certain he needed "fox pajamas" too!

On bottom he is wearing the Sweet Dreams Pajama Pants & Short pattern.  This version is the cuffed shorts.  They are made from french terry fabric from my stash.

We hope all these examples of pajamas including fabric and pattern pairings is helpful for you in your pajama making!  Can we suggest the Pajama Party pattern collection?  And if you need fabric, check out our pajama fabric too!

Pajama Party Fabric

You can also order Pajama Party fabric!!!

We brainstormed several ideas for fabric to coordinate with the Pajama Party Collection and one of our ideas was preprinted sleep mask panels!

Project Run and Play Pajama Party

The masks are designed to coordinate with some of our existing fabric colorways...

...but we also have neutral colors available to match any pajamas.

white sleep mask panels

Another idea we made a reality are panels with coordinating sleep masks printed on the bottom. It is a good use of the extra fabric at the bottom of the panel. These will make adorable pajama sets!

They would make really nice pillow covers too!
