We took a little break from Project Night and Day during the busy holiday season, but it is time to wrap things up! Lindsay from PACountryCrafts sewed these fun daytime girls looks!

I wanted to create night inspired looks with lots of sparkle and WOW!
When we were planning patterns for this collection, we envisioned the perfect track suit with the Verdant Windbreaker and Planetary Pants. This is made of ripstop nylon so it is very lightweight but will be perfect for her to wear to gymnastics practice! A Sunshine Scrunchie adds the perfect 90s style accessory too!
I used purple satin from Cali Fabrics and added silver trim to this Celestial Dress to accentuate the princess seams. For winter layering, I sewed a faux fur Blank Canvas Cardigan. The embroidered(Rain)Bow adds a perfect touch!
I just had to try a Luna Jumper in velvet and this navy stretch velvet from Cali Fabrics was lovely to sew! I used an athletic knit remnant for the ruffles and also used it for pieced Rocky Shore Tights. There was just enough left for a Sunshine Scrunchie with tails.
Finally, because I made a little error - the littlest model got a bonus outfit! Velvet is a great option for the Easel Tee and it pairs well with Rocky Shore Tights. The Project Night and Day Digital Designs include stars that make a perfect applique! Oh, and that scrunchie adds the sassiest ponytail!

As promised, Audrey from Skirt Fixation is back with her 2nd set of makes, this time with a night theme. Prepare to be inspired! Most of her fabrics are from Raspberry Creek Fabrics.
I just couldn't help myself! And my kids *needed* some more clothes from the Project Night and Day pattern collection. This time I was inspired by the fabrics from the collection, and sewed up some fancier nightwear looks.
This time my older daughter got a SUPER soft sweatshirt using one of the fabrics she helped design and the Luna Jumper pattern! This fabric is the Growing Night in Nebula printed on sweat shirting.
She has styled it with her Sol Skirt and a new Little Dipper Bag in red satin.
Next up is this pair! He really needed some new dress clothes as he's grown out of everything in just a few months. And she just lucked out in being small enough for me to be able to scrap bust some pretty special fabric!
First up, he is wearing a new Sunset Shirt made with grey chambray from Raspberry Creek Fabrics. And it's paired with some Morocco Pants (plain version with no stripe) in stretch sateen. Finally, he's wearing a black satin Outer Space Tie, narrow width. Talk about a handsome outfit!
Little Sister is wearing an Aurora Raglan made from the Bubble Nebula print in the Project Night & Day fabric collection, and blue velvet sleeves. She's wearing a Sol Skirt lengthened to midi length in raisin twill fabric. Just the kind of fancy style she loves to wear night or day!
For their 2nd act, these two brought out the really fancy duds!
Since he really needs new dress clothes, he is again wearing a new Sunset Shirt made with the Constellations in Ultraviolet printed on linen from Raspberry Creek Fabrics. And it's paired with some Morocco Pants in blue twill and grey linen. Finally, he's wearing a light green satin Outer Space Tie, narrow width. He just may have stolen the show here!
We got sort of crazy on the next outfit for little sister! She's wearing a Starlite Dress, but it's hacked to have only tulle layers on the bottom with no lining, and blue velvet on the top. She's wearing some Rocky Shore Tights underneath in Mystic Mountain Nebula tie dye print from the Project Night & Day fabric collection. Finally, she's wearing a really special Constellation Collar...let's take a closer look at it:
We used gray chambray fabric from Raspberry Creek Fabrics, black ribbon ties, and some star bead trim hand sewn along the edges! OUT OF THIS WORLD!!
For their final number, they got all dressed up!
For his final outfit, he is wearing a new Sunset Shirt made with from black linen. And it's paired with some Zealand Zip Off pants in khaki. Finally, he's wearing an Outer Space Bow Tie made from Galaxy in Mars Red fabric from the Project Night & Day fabric collection! Snazzy to the moon and back!
Little Sister's final number is a Celestial Dress in swiss dot air flow fabric from Raspberry Creek Fabrics. This one has flower rosette trim on the neckline and princess seams. If you've been wondering if you should buy some of that new air flow fabric, the answer is yes! You're welcome. She's styled this dress with her big sister's red satin Little Dipper Bag, and a new red satin Rain(bow) in her hair!
Here's a closer look at that Rain(bow)...it has some of the Project Night and Day embroidery designs on the tails! Such a pretty touch!
Sunny days are her favorite. When I saw Project Night and Day, I knew my daughter would love the Sol Skirt. She's in middle school now and very much loves putting effort into her outfits. This skirt looks like a "legit" store knock-off.... I took my time with each detail and the result is outstanding. I honestly can't stop admiring the zipper I installed.
We paired it with the Luna Jumper. She said it matches her personality -- a little girly, a little quirky, and a lot comfortable. The ruffle takes a little bit of time, but overall it came together in an evening. I was able to easily blend an 8 chest and 11 height and the fit is great.
To top off the look, I sewed up a Sunshine Scrunchie which is unbelievably fast. I will be making sooo many of these as she is so in love.
As for my inspiration: I went stash diving. I came up with some stretch denim, a remnant of yellow with white polka French terry and some rainbow rayon. Sometimes picking out the fabrics is the most time consuming (especially if you have a huge stash of fabric... haha)
At the end of our photos, she gave me the best compliment she can give - "I'm totally wearing this to school tomorrow!!"
Well, my sunrise/sunset inspiration maybe didn't translate as well as I hoped, but it might be because of all the snow we had...it just feels like winter clothes. Haha! But check out the awesome fabric anyway! I was going for sunrise, with the sky blue and white double brushed poly Starlite Dress, with a sunny Little Dipper Bag. I absolutely love how full the skirt is, and my daughter does too!
I printed the Little Dipper bag at 80% scale, since my daughter is just newly 3, and I thought the regular size would be too big for her. It turned out great!
A red sunset was my other inspiration. The fabric is a 100% cotton French terry. I'm always a fan of a substantial French terry, and this one is SO GOOD. I used a black cotton spandex French terry for the side strips.
The top is a George Hoodie, and the pants are the new Planetary Pants from the Project Night and Day collection. Now that I've made one pair, my 9 and 11 year old boys also are requesting their own pairs :) I should have taken his measurements instead of guessing, because they're a little big, but better too big than too small. He will grow into them!

Picking out patterns from the project run and play collections has become one of our favorite things to do. We recently moved and life has been hectic, but when I saw the new collection I had to show my girl. She immediately pointed to the Celestial Dress and said, “I really love that dress!” So I decided to make it happen. A couple of years ago she picked out this Swiss dot chiffon and it has sat on my shelf since. Whenever she is looking at my fabric stash she always asks me to make her a dress from it so I finally did. It turned out beautifully! And the best part was she felt like a princess. We lengthened the top tier a little and just added one tier to the skirt and lengthened the sleeve a bit for an elastic casing. We lined the top and bottom with rayon challis and left the sheerness below the knee. She has a semi formal event coming up and can’t wait to wear it!

Next stop in our intergalactic tour is Audrey. She sewed up a whole bunch of the Project Night & Day patterns using "Golden Hour" for her Day theme. Most of her fabric comes from CaliFabrics.
As often happens whenever we produce a pattern collection, I just could not stop sewing these fun patterns! I'm going to be honest and admit right up front that I sewed a Day-themed look and a Night-themed look. Stay tuned for that...
In a super fun turn of events, my teenage daughter contributed to both the fabric collection, and the embroidery pattern, and some sewing for the collection! Here you see her in a Luna Jumper she embroidered with the Project Night & Day embroidery designs. The fabric is super soft waffle knit and quilted double gauze for the pink center.
And of course she needed a new skirt! The Sol Skirt is definitely a new favorite for her. The stretch denim from CaliFabrics was perfect for this as she is pushing the limits of the largest size. The gorgeous Little Dipper Bag is made from pink denim, and completes the ensemble perfectly.
Little Sister had to join in the fun with a Celestial Dress! This one is made from seersucker fabric, and is such a great fabric for this dress. She's also wearing a Little Dipper Bag sewn with Art Gallery Fabric canvas and a vintage ribbon for the strap. Then she needed a Constellation Collar with gold buttons and accents, right? Of course, right! Finally she has a Sunshine Scrunchie with long tails in her glamorous hair. Styled to the MAXXXX as usual for this one!
Go get them, girls! Your fashion is out of this world.
Little Sister also received the dress of her dreams, a rainbow Starlite Dress! Her darling big sister embroidered the rainbow from the Project Night & Day embroidery designs, and then we attached ribbons to make the rainbow continue onto the first tier. The fabric is cotton jersey, and perfect for this dress. She's also wearing a rainbow Constellation Collar with eyelet lace trim. So sweet!

Backing up a bit, I actually sewed a muslin of the Sol Skirt for Big sister to make sure would fit before I cut into the good stretch denim fabric! This fabric was leftover in my stash from (aaaaallllllmost!) the 90s, and so we had to take a photo with the jacket I originally sewed using this fabric. Please tell me you remember the floral on floral outfit trend from the 90s?
Finally, Little Sister got 1 more outfit because CaliFabrics had the most cheerful yellow bull denim fabric! So she NEEDED a Sol Skirt, right? And with it, she's wearing an Aurora Raglan, because how could we not sew an AURORA Raglan for a celestial themed pattern collection? The center panel fabric is the "When Skies are Grey" tie dye from the Project Night & Day fabric collection.
Okay, let's take a closer look at those boys. They all got new clothes from the Project Night & Day pattern collection too!
This cool dude got a pair of Planetary Pants using board shorts fabric from my stash. This is actually a prototype pair I sewed during testing, so don't look too close, okay? He loves them (and tearing them off!!!) so much that I let him keep them, even though I see so many mistakes! (Tearing off the pants video on Instagram, if you want to see them in action!) He's also wearing an Aurora Raglan sewing using the A Star is Born panel from the Project Night & Day fabric collection, and the sleeves are the sunrise tie dye print, also from the fabric collection!
This cool dude is wearing an Eclipse Hoodie (had to use it. Eclipse, get it!!) made from SUPER SOFT sweat shirting from CaliFabrics and the I Need My Space panel from the Project Night & Day fabric collection. He's also holding one of the coolest things I've ever sewn, a Big Dipper Duffle Bag!
Finally last, but DEFINITELY not lease, this guy's outfit! He also is wearing an Eclipse Hoodie but this one I color blocked to echo the phases of the moon. In fact, the panel from the Project Night & Day fabric collection on his shirt says It's Just A Phase. One sleeve is ripped to echo the 90's grunge we were inspired by, and the other sleeves has glitter and holographic stars from the Project Night & Day digital designs collection.
And his pants, you ask? Those are the Planetary Pants, sewn using reflective fabric from CaliFabrics! The inset photos shows how very, very reflective they are! We took a photo at night with a flash light, and he really lit up the night! Definitely in the Top 10 of my favorite things I've ever sewn. Ever.
